I know they'r beautiful sculpts and all but they don't feel very Chaos Dwarf to me, for a race that's unfathomably proud, and suffer form a terrible self adoration (they're better than any other race in their eyes, bar Hashut), I think these long lithe human forms fall short of that design.

I prefer that art work showing them like bull shaped Balrogs, essentially living statues which burn form within.

But again great sculpts full of detail, just not what I expected them to be.

That figures, one week after I start posting pics of my conversions the official sculpts come out, lol. They could have gone a few different ways with these and i definitely didn't expect this.

I agree that I need some better photos to decide if I like these. It does look like there is a ton of detail though, looks promising, makes me wonder what the destroyer will look like...

Agreed. I have no idea what those are supposed to be. Vaguely humanoid and extra flamey is about all I can make out.

I'm very excited that FW came up with K'daii miniatures! I agree that it is quite hard to make out what's actually going on, but nevertheless it's great to see them! Plus I cannot wait for the Destroyer to show up!

Edit 2: I think they look incredible and very unique. "Downside" could be that they look quite challenging to paint!

They pretty much look like spurting gushes of flame with helmets, axes and chains to me. They'll be on Forgeworld soon enough for a proper looksee

I want to say that I think these are going to be really great models once we see them painted up and in person. I may just make some Magma minotaurs for myself, sort of as a 'back rank' of them. As if they EXPLODE WITH FURY once they start fighting.

These K'daai make me think of Efreets of mythology, which is a good thing. I like the style of Chaos Dwarfs so far.

They remind me of the knights who say NI, which at least for me is more than enough to get them painted in blue tzeentch-like flames would make them spectacular IMHO

The designer told me at UK gamesday that he was thinking of Japanese warrior masks containing molten metal demons for these guys.

Seems he stuck with the idea but went more errrr....... molten flame constructs.

Looks cool though.
