Question about the Empire Battalion

Do anyone know what's in the new empire battalion? For some reason, there's no empire rumors in the rumorthread, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'll say this in the nicest way possible... If there's no news, there's no news. If a new Empire Batallion is released, this will be the second place (to GW's website) where you will see pics for it.

For some reason, there's no empire rumors in the rumorthread, so I thought I'd ask here.

Actually, there was an Empire rumour thread, but seems like it got out of hand and received the blessing of the mighty Modhammer. Certainly a pity, since on the first page of that thread there was a good summary of the rumours done by Harry (may he never run out of pie).

However, I do not recall any mentions of battalion boxed set contents on that summary.

Then again, the new plastic releases are not likely to end up in the battalion nox (except maybe for the demi-griffons), so I would not expect anything drastic from the new battalion box.

Superb, thanks for all the feedback so far! Does anyone remember how long it usually takes for a battalion to be released after the book comes out?

Usually new bataillons, in the rare cases when they include one of the new kits, only comes a few months later, often with a second wave, so as not to reduce the potential sales of the new kits themselves.

If the bataillon is only a rebox of the current with new art, or a similar bataillon with a small change, and often a higher price (like for Ogres where 24 gnoblars where replaced by 2 more ogres, or the tomb king where 8 more skeletons and a hole in your pocket where added) then you might expect it in a month or so.

If you have a use for the current bataillon, buy it now, as the next one will probably eitheir be more expensive.

By buying 3 bataillons, I got 60 state troops (always needed), 30 ranged models (15 handgunners with full commant (I often use 10 without command, but with the extra I got the option), ~15 crossbows without (used as small 5-xbows detachments or a 10-14 unit), 24 knights (~half with lance and shield, the other half converted with extra weapons and heads to use great weapons), and last, 30 great weapons (goot unit, and I didn't have to pay the expensive individual box)

I don't see anything in this list that I'm not happy to have. I might not field all the knights, but with then I got the option of changing from game to game (an unit of 12 reiksguard ? A small unit of 5/6 without command kights to hunt monsters, supports units and warmachine or add to a flank ? ...)

I could probably have a use for one more such bataillon, as 40 greatswords are perfectly useables, 20 more states troops always useful, I could upgrade my shooting units to 20 should I want to play with more ranged units, and a few more knights could be useable for cavalry armires with 15 strong knight units in core.
