The idea is to use speed and maneuverability to pick off enemy units. Plus death magic needs close range to be really efficient. Using flying sorceresses, I can close the distance easily and start picking off enemy characters.

Yeah I was thinking that. But then I couldn't use the Dark Riders for anything beyond harassment and hitting a unit's rear.
