If you're writing about Shadowsun, she was a pupil of Puretide. Puretide is basically the Tau equivalent of Confucius. That's gonna be a tough scene to write, as Puretide shaped the thinking of the entire race in terms of war. Any thoughts on how to portray someone who is impossibly wise in a way that won't make him seem... err... Impossibly wise?
The difference between fiction and non-fiction is that fiction has to make sense. It's tough to write someone like that and make it real. I guess you could go the opposite way and write about how surreal it would be for Shadowsun herself to meet them. Turn it in to a sort of hero worship thing, but... Err... I'm rambling, now. I'm honestly curious, though. How do you intend to portray him?
Short answer: I probably won't.![]()
So, the idea that Farsight has lived for a couple centuries fighting Orks after being taught by Puretide - despite Shadowsun also being taught by him - has been discarded?
