    DE Dais of Destruction

Here's the preamble: I find the Dark Eldar codex to be one of the best written books in some time, with almost every unit being viable. However, the one sticking point I have is the Dais of Destruction. It seems to have been put in as an afterthought, most likely for those who have the old model. However, as someone here pointed out (sorry, can't remember who), it doesn't really fit the asthetic of the rest of the army -- it is heavily armored, and suffers from a dual nature of fast transport or slow gun ship (or "Land Raider syndrome"). So here is my attempt to fix that:

    Dais of Destruction........................185 pts
If your army includes Asdrubael Vect, you may also include the Dais of Destruction.
    BS 4
    AV F 11 S 11 R 10

    Composition
    1 (Unique)

    Unit Type
    Vehicle (Fast, Skimmer, Open-topped)

    Transport Capacity
    6 models

    Wargear
    One Forward-mounted Void Lance
    Two Sponson-monted Dark Lances
    Torment Grenade Launchers
    Retrofire Jets
    Twilight Field
    - The Dais gains a 4+ Invulnerable save versus all Glancing and Penetrating hits. In addtion, the enemy does not gain a +1 bonus to damage results for the vehicle being open-topped.
    Sigil of High Commorragh
    - All friendly Dark Eldar units within 12” of the Dais may re-roll any failed Leadership tests. If Asdrubael Vect is embarked on the Dais, affected units are Fearless as well.

    Special Rules
    Night Vision
    Aerial Assault
    Chariot of the Supreme Overlord
    - Only Asdrubael Vect, Vect's Archon Court, or a unit joined by Vect may embark on the Dais. If Vect disembarks, any unit also embarked on the Dais (excluding Vect's Archon Court) must also disembark, though they need not remain in coherency with Vect.

    Re: DE Dais of Destruction

    Here are my design notes:
It is based around the Ravager, having the same armor, weapons, and special rules, and is thus the basis for the points value.
I decreased the transport capacity compared to a Raider, both for balance and to make it feel more like an elite transport for Vect and his retinue.
The prow gun is a Void Lance to give it added punch, and to show that Vect gets the best "toys".
The Twilight Field are the "advanced power fields" that protect the ship. Rather than upping the AV (which seems odd for DE), it gives a better form of Flicker Field, and removes the negatives of being open-topped.
