Dark angels May/June I hear.

Hi all. A mate at work whos brother works over at the printers gw use was back home for easter this past weekend and shared some intresting things. DARK ANGELS are aparently next and set for next couple of months.
Aparrently stuff we have heard re chaplin wolfguard style units is not far from the mark. They are to get a new speeder varient.
New elite ravenwing unit.
I was also told of a new psychic power that works similarly to some sort of shield that a necron unit gets. Basically it forces a unit targeting librarian to hit an allied unit instead. Not familiar with new necron book so not sure what that is.
Know it is not much . Second hand info and all but his stuff matched what i had read here so thought i would pass it on. Anyone able to add anything?

thanks for the insights, personally id like to see people NOT flaming your low post count as a reason for this not being true ! we seem to see far too much of that lately, it puts people off in my opinion !

No worries. I have been reading stuff on here for a long time so i know the drill for new guys posting rumours . v easy to dismiss.
I did think about your point before doing so; but i figured a little info is better than none. I trust the guy, I am not saying others have to. I know i have no track record but you never know i might have heard right! :-)

Do not worry about having a track record, my friend; considering that the famous track record rumour mongers get it wrong 70% of the time and also considering that nobody seems to know tit-for-tat due to GW's new 'don't tell them anything about the next release, unless pig's airport opens next month' policy, your rumour is as welcome as any other rumour.

There was no chance they were going to be merged with the main Codex: SM, no matter how easy or much sense it would have made. The worst that would have happened would be a WD dex for a couple of years like BA or now Sisters. Most units are shared, so with DA it was mainly a question of focus for the book and what new kits to add to the army.

Codex merges are one of those undead rumors that never die no matter how often they're killed. It inevitably seems that someone who doesn't like an army and wishes it would go away posits that it WILL go away, and either spreads the rumor or gets misquoted and so on and so forth. The only time codexes have merged have been the mini-dexes being folded into the main books, but that's more because they were doing away with mini-dexes rather than getting rid of whole armies. But I don't doubt that eventually people will be talking about Eldar and Dark Eldar being combined again, nothing ever changes when it comes to repetitious rumors.

It'd be nice to see the Dark Angels released soon, being that they are the FIRST Legion of Space Marines (not counting the Custodes) and have a rich and dark storyline!

That is a very good/bad thing to hear. Good in the way that we Dark Angels fans will be getting a new codex soon and bad in the way that we will be just b4 the new edition release, AGAIN. Let us hope that GW remembers the way they screwed us the last time and do there damnedest to keep that from happening again. I remember the excitement of getting the new codex the last time and how SHORT LIVED that feeling was. I think the SM codex was released within a month and a half of our codex and it killed me to see all the new stuff they got compared to what we got. Let us pray that they keep the new stuff coming the way the did for the last 4 codex's. May it be a bright future(of war gaming) for all of us Dark Angels players.

More like a year and a half. Funny how everyone says his favourite army was the last one to get updated last time.

A year and a half actually Dark Angels came out March 2007, 5th edition 40K was July 2008 and the Space Marines codex October 2008.

I wouldn't worry too much though, at least about the next edition: 6th ed is being predicted for summer this year, so if DA do come out right before it's safe to say theirs will be a 6th ed codex in all respects.

Odd that there is absolutely no solid information on a book that's in print and due out in 1 or 2 months. I figured someone would have at least made up a codex worth of rumors by now.
