    Scratchbuilt destroyers

Hi, I'm about to begin collecting necrons and was wondering if anyone had any tips/suggestons on how to scratchbuild the chassis of the destroyers, or the length/width/thickness of the chassis. Once I start I will post regular updates, also what glues can be used with plasticard?.

this is a basic template, don't know if you can see the measurements, but the whole thing is about 74mm long and52mm wide. could someone post whether this is a good approximate size for the destroyer chassis.

    Re: Scratchbuilt destroyers

I've made some quick measurements with the one I've built and it's about 55mm long and 40mm wide. You could make a spyder out of what you've already got

Finally got the plasticard today, so I can start . Could someone with a destroyer model please post how thick the chassis is meant to be, I'm estimating about 5-7mm, but would like some confirmation, thanks. Below are what I have so far for the destroyer chassis, held together by blutack.Click image for larger version.

the side sections are 9mm in depth, 5.5mm on the top side of the destroyerr and 3.5 on the bottom side of the destroyer, is this a good size, or too big/small

    Re: Scratchbuilt destroyers

Finished gluing the main parts of the chassis, just need to get some green stuff to fill gaps that would be way too tricky to do with plasticard. all thats left is to do the engine/exhaust parts, detailing, and the spine/body.
The pictures are of it so far:Click image for larger version.

Put the exhausts on the destroyer today, just need to figure out how I'll do the spine and get a torso, as well as detailing.Click image for larger version.
