Thread: The Cron Old Guard

It seems like alot of these conversions are unnessesary and totally random.

Why would you use warrior legs with vampite count torsos, prat heads and deathmark weapons?

Oh they are, totally and completely unnecessary. I do them just to give the army flavor and variety. I enjoy the modeling and the challenge of trying to come up with something and pull it off. Sometimes it works other times well, I've done worse I'm sure. I guarantee Ill have the only deathmarks that look like mine once I get this army on the table. To each their own I guess.

I really like the thought you're putting into this army, LegionThree.

I know Necrons are supposed to be soulless robots (and sometimes having lots of models in the same poses reinforces this), but you've put a lot of flavour into the style and feel and I really think this works well.

I agree, sometimes I just put together different things to see if they work, too:
Occasionally, things might look good 'on paper' but end up being out of scale (or some such) when stuck together.
Other times, you can change poses and use diferent bits and the whole model comes alive and you end up with something unique which really looks like it fits.
The engineer (Cryptek?) looks suitably 'alien' for a Ncron leader. Well done with this and keep up the very good work!
I am urgently trying to contact any living relatives of Sam 'Jock' Wilson, KIA 10.06.44, UK army service id 2764432, from Morley, West Yorkshire, England. Served with Black Watch Regiment & No.6 Commando.

Not a massive fan of the Skaven with a Necron head but other than that pretty cool!

Not much of an update project wise but I did get my first chance in two years to play and came out with a small victory thanks to all the helpful hints and tricks on the forums. Thanks guys. Its just as fun as it was when I left it.

OK way past due on an update, unfortunately not a lot to show yet. The comand barge is 95% done and I have a slew of warrior/immortal conversions in the pipe so heres a little something. This will be the pattern for all the vehicles with the exception of night scythes maybe.

Though it's just my opinion, I'd look at LegionThree's Necrons not as actual Necron dynasty or somewhat, but as mysterious other "Robo-enemy" very much similar to the actual necrons.
They're a bit strange I must admit, but the conversions themself are nice! In the end "have it your way" LegionThree.

That about sums it up. Maybe not another race altogether but a group that has been removed from the main body of Necron so long that they have splintered and changed. How they look, who they are, how they fight, everything. The warp can do crazy things, even to some living metal.

So long time no post. Unfortunately this one doesnt even involve Necrons. Im finding myself pulling more and more back towards my first love the Blood Angels. So heres what I have been spending my time on.

Not amazing but probably the best I have ever done. Cell phones never really do these justice do they?
