    Dungeonbowl

Mod's you might want to move, so feel free to do so, but I figure is this kinda "Warhammer" news so I thought I'd post it here.

    Anyhow...

    http://www.dungeonbowl-game.com/

Dungeonbowl is the next exciting Blood Bowl experience, set in the fantasy American Football inspired game world already adapted as a video game by Cyanide. The key difference between Dungeonbowl and Blood Bowl as is rather obvious from the name, is that Dungeonbowl is played in a dangerous dungeon!

The wizards created the Dungeonbowl as they wanted to know which Magic College was the most powerful. The game introduces some subtle modifications to the standard Blood Bowl rules. A match is still played between two teams, but each side is composed of three races. For example, the roster of a Rainbow Wizards team contains Wood Elves, Halflings and Humans. The second difference is that the first team to score a touchdown wins the match. This task is made significantly more difficult by the fact that the ball is hidden in one of six treasure chests, five of which are booby-trapped with an explosive spell. Last, but by no means least, movement within the dungeon is both facilitated and complicated by teleporter pads. These allow players to magically zap from one position to another; a mishap, however, can lead to a player being zapped out of the match. As with Blood Bowl, the game is driven by dice and each player plays in turn.

Dungeonbowl continues Cyanide's successful collaboration with Games Workshop and their rich and varied Blood Bowl world. The gameplay should therefore delight existing Blood Bowl fans as well as offer a gateway to this zany parody of Warhammer®and American Football for fans of tactical sports gaming.

    DungeonBowl

Apologies for starting a new thread, I'd have liked to resurrect the old one but it is locked so maybe this can be merged with it and re-opened?

Anyway, Cyanide have announced they will be releasing a Dungeonbowl game, link to their forum here.
Some screenshots of the new game can be seen here too.

Now the interesting thing about Dungeonbowl is that there was never an "official" rules set for 3rd edition bar an article in White Dwarf. If memory serves it was just using the original 3rd edition rules before any of the lrb's came out. There have been quite a few fan made updates but don't think the BBRC ever got officially involved.
So this game will have to update the Dungeonbowl rules and the mixed race teams to work with the crp rules. They have confirmed that this will be in their game with an example of "a Rainbow Wizards team contains Wood Elves, Halflings and Humans."

I'd say that adds credence to the rumours about a new boxed set with 4 teams and that it very well could be Dungeonbowl. With 4 mixed teams each of 16 players you could easily make for a nicely contained game without the issue of having to miss out the other 20 teams like you would with normal BB. The original game only had 8 different teams so with up to 64 models to play with you could conceivably cover all 8 teams. The dungeon tiles would go together very much like Space Hulk's I am sure.

They have also confirmed a 3rd instalment of their computer game called Chaos Edition. This will feature the missing Chaos Dwarf team from the crp as well as one of the NAF sactioned teams in the shape of Underworld. The 3rd and final team will be a brand new team in the shape of Khorne Daemons.
Official thread is here, there is a lot of pointless bickering in the long thread so I'd advise reading page 1 then skipping to the 1st initial announcement linked in the OP.

According to Cyanide GW banned both the Slann and Chaos Pact from being included in the game, not sure if that or the new Khorne daemon team has any relevance or is just GW's lawyers being difficult again.

    Re: Dungeonbowl

I loved Dungeonbown more than Bloodbowl, have high hopes for this. How faithful was the original video game to the tabletop version? Did plauyers till get injured, die and retire or was it just reset at the end of games?

It is very faithful. There are a few star players missing and a few bugs but the rules are as they should be.

I'll get it then, the thing I loved most about the original was the RPG element to campaigns, if the PC version has that I'm in. Wish I'd know n that a couple of years back. Not sure why I never asked. Thanks.

I hope not, I'd buy Blood Bowl but I'm not interested in variant games, I just wouldn't play them. I guess I may possibly end up buying it just to get the minis if I like them though. Much the same thoughts go out to this, should have put the time into fixing all the bugs and adding all the missing elements to the Blood Bowl game, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
