Anyone want to guess as to the components of the new upcoming Empire Battalion Box (I haven't seen any rumors anywhere as to its contents) or posit what they think it should include. My guess is that it will be 8 knights, 20 state troops (or so), and a cannon/mortar.

Honestly I am hoping for a repackage of the current one. I like that there are greatswords in it. And if they put a cannon in there it would limit how many multiple purchases you could make.

The price seems off though.
Another way to obtain 42 miniatures per set would be to pack inside 30 infantry and 12 knights.
Or 30 state troops and 12 free company.
Or 20 state troops, 8 knights, 8 free company, 3 demi-griffons and an artillery piece with 3 crew.
Yup, you're right. A lot of those would make more sense, too.
20 state troops
10 shooty state troops/archers
8 knights
war machine + 3 crew
That would get it done.

Pretty close to it (archers could be included rather than handgunners), but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea or not possible.
War machine could also potentially be the helblaster/helstorm to switch things up.

Is not Thunder Stomp itself a special rule? If that is your argument then Thunder Stomp can not be allowed to let you Thunder Stomp, as being able to Thunder Stomp benefits Thunder Stomp, therefore you can't use the Thunder Stomp rule in conjunction with Thunder Stomping to Thunder Stomp. ~Aglemar
haven't been in WHFB for a while now (only empire codex i had was the one with a butt ton of knights on it's cover), but i would like to see at least one of the new sets in it.
personally i would love to see a griffon model and the demigryphs.
