Khurasan minis - The Walking Dead

Saw these on LAF earlier and they're brilliant!

15mm zombies and if you check out the survivors they match the cast of "The Walking Dead", though Dale is missing his trademark hat and so too is either Rick or Carl. Click image for larger version.

Khurasan do some really nice stuff, including some Fallout inspired 15mm minis too.

I think I'll have to order something from Khurasan eventually - they've just released these aliens looking chaps and theres a explorer vehicle on the way. I like the fact that you could pick a scenario from a film, get them all from Khurasan, and be playing relatively quickly.

I just have to decide whether it'll be walking dead or aliens

Re: Khurasan minis - The Walking Dead

That'd work... might have to throw some aliens in there anyways

Oh and with regards to explorer vehicle

The caster has it but as its semi-civilian it got bumped back a bit on the casting schedule. He's doing the federal medium tank and heavy apc now. Also he's taking over casting of the polecat and caiman. So he's quite busy! But the horizon is also a priority and hope it gets to the top of the queue within a month or so. Thanks

That is why I bought Ambush Z from Ambush Alley Games. THat is how it is structured. Have the Marines now just to get some zombies.

Those are pretty cool, as are there other bits. Makes me want to start playing some random scenarios.

I'm with Gomez, I really need to make an order with them soon. Fun range of models, and I really like the containment guys they make!

Their eldritch collection are gorgeous (well, as gorgeous as unearthly horrors can be! )

I'm thinking of making an order of random minis just to have some fun stuff to paint up on a rainy day.

Though I did find a thread the other day where some people had issues with customs taking possession of their parcels from Khurasan, and were recomending to order smaller orders to protect from that! I'll try to find the thread and I'll post a link. Might be worth a read, especially as I can't remember if it was all as bad as I remember it! It may have been a bit late when I saw it! I'l get back as soon as I find it

Edit: It was 2 seperate post I had read, and my tired brain merged them together and added some fantasy elements to the story! I'l post the links anyway, just incase you fancy seeing where my madness came from! Sorry for that!

Anyway, stop reading my ranting, go make orders from Khurasan, quick quick!

I've been a Khurasan fan for a long time now. The problem is that they keep on pushing "must have" miniatures to the market too fast . I just ordered the zombies and the survival set to be used with all things zombie. One project more.. Although this is a positive problem!

If you do run a few games based on The Walking Dead, be sure to include a rule where Carl does the exact opposite of what the controlling player wants him to do.

Khurasan are killing me with their release schedule. I have two Tomorrow's War armies (Mass Effect) sitting on the ground besides my desk waiting for attention, as well as some USMC and Xenomorphs, and my huge order of post-Apoc should arrive this week. And now Jon is tempting me to do zombies!

This is ignoring my FOW Germans or Battletech that got shelved for 15mm sci-fi.

I like how GW gets all sorts of flak for models inspired by other media but straight rip-offs of Alien, Predator, Walking Dead, etc. are totally kosher.

GW has straight up ripped off Aliens itself in the past. Chip on shoulder much?

Re: Khurasan minis - The Walking Dead

Have they? Every thing they've done has been tweaked in some way; most obviously in the different heads and adding an extra pair of arms, and a load more spikes. Painting them purple and blue probably counts, too. I haven't seen Walking Dead, so I don't know if these models are exact sculpts of the characters from that show or not.

The very first Imperial guard models were named after the characters from Aliens.

I just call them as I see them, and I call hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy? Where exactly have I been having a go at GW until you showed up?

From GW "fan boys" (the kind who are bitter about GW policies but haven't kicked the habit) maybe, not from most 15mm fans. Everyone with half a clue realises nearly everything that GW has ever done is "heavily inspired" by famous movies and history, and even bitter ex-GW fans like me don't give them crap for it. Half the fun back when I was into GW was spotting the influences.
