    Charging in a combat.

    Hey,

    Last night i had a game with a friend and the following came up;

    My Spearmen (s) were in combat with a Chariot (c) and a Pumpwagon (p) for a few rounds. There was a Squiqherd a few inches back.

    cc pp
    ssssssssss

    In my friends turn he declares a charge with his Squiqherd , but his chariot and pumpwagon are already in combat with the spears and there is no place for the Squiqherd.... So the question;

    Do the Chariot and the Pumpwagon move out of the way and "slide" to the side to make place for the squiqs or is it an impossible charge due to no place to maneuver/move?

    It was a friendly game so i allowed the charge but i kept wondering if it was ok.

    Thanks in advance!

    Nobody moves out of the way, if there is no room to fit then you cannot charge.

    You can house rule otherwise if you wish but remember that it is a house rule, not the official one.

    Indeed. The best you can do is to make use of the combat reform option to effectively slide your own units as far as possible (remember: unlike a normal reform the center of the unit may be moved during a combat reform). But to do this you need to familiarize yourself with the combat reform rules.
