Night Lords + First Claw

Hi im starting this log for my night lords army so hopefully i should be updating it quite alot over the next few days/weeks but for now here is my new toy i got for the army..... so this is the story i got in today and this box was waiting for me, all it had on it was my name and address



after opening the box i made this face



and then this happened













i took some pic with it stood next to my dread for size comparison

Awesome model though. I hope to receive my Decimator in the next little while. I know that FW's open day threw their stock levels, but my patience wears thin!

At the risk of seeming harsh, the winged helm on the contemptor seems a bit out of place. From what I can make out from the photos, it doesn't seem to allow for much freedom of movement. Would it not be a better idea to use those wings to replace the aquila gorget? I don't have the contemptor yet, so I'm not sure if such a thing would be easy to do, but the end effect would better cement its display of allegiance IMO.

Hey guys so here is decemaitor painted .....





















ive not glued the shoulder pads on for moving him about ect but alot of my friends say it looks good without them what do you think ?
personly i like the shoulder pads adds more bulk,,,
It took if im being honest about 7 hours to paint over three days its a very nice kit and i will be making another later in the year i think... maybe ill leave the shoulder pads off on the next one or make them damaged so you see the detail underneath

errrm the helmets in the army so far are the gw ones but im going ot be playing around with the vampire skeleton kit wings if thats what you mean swampman ?

the contemptor's helmet when you look from the side has got enough room to look from side to side but i had the some concrn about him looking asif he can only look forward and other people in my gaming group have made the same comment,, as for the chest i was going to try and use green stuff too model bat wings but when i sycu the skull on it just worked for me but ill soon post more photos up of just the dread so youll get a better look,,, thanks Dan

Just use Neodium N52 Strength Magnets like i do! Then you don't have to worry about glue

ok so now ive got take photos of the normal marines that ive finished plus my commander and as its in the name of the thread my first claw conversions ill be describing the conversions and inspiration for them alot more than the dread and decemator as well the dread and deamon engine explain there selves really ..... but for now heres a sneak peak at the next photos its a tank

The pose on your Decimator rocks brother, as does your detail work on the cables. I think you are letting yourself down with the heavy wash though. I'd recommend doing a final layer of the blue base colour on the flat parts of the armor. Then your paint job will truly be awesome.

Ok guys i know its been long time since i started this thread and the nightlords have sadly been gathereing dust for a while now i havent even played a game of the new editon of the rules or with the new chaos dex but after along absence i am going to revive this thread ill start with some photos tomorrow they are old now but will hopefully get you guys looking and commenting again
