Mortarion and his Death Guard (GW, FW, GS and others)

Hi

Reimaging my chaos marines as Death Guard! Going to build Mortarion but atm I'm waiting for my GW-order. Maybe it got lost in the warp as I've gotten the other parts from three different suppliers. Well, nevermind. I kick off the thread slowly with a lowly Rhino. Fun to paint a vehicle as it got acne and an infection. Pictures came out a but too shiny and will try and take new one in daylight!

Thank you Guys! Still waiting for the GW shipment that is preventing me starting on building Mortarion. Repainted some old plaguemarines, and repainted an old landraider (for the third time I think . Will be building somewhere around 30 plaugemarines from forgeworld bits, and mix the plaguemarine kits with the older sets of armour , something I'm stealing shamelessly from my friend Kapturowski (on the forums.) He's a bit better but as he spends a hell of a lot of time on each mini I'll probably have a 4000 pts army before he's got a thousand (fast and sloppy, that's me

Been thinking of repainting my old predator, but a bit undecided if it's not as well to buy a new one. But this old is kind of cool. Got a wierd weapon setup though, twin linked lascannon, sponson lascannon and a sponson flamer. Not sure if that was viable in second edition or just like that for the coolness.

That Predator combination was viable, I think. But perhaps it would be a clever thing to cut off the Heavy Flamer and replace it with a Las?

The corpse-Rhino looks cool, almost eerie in the white undercoat! Great job.

Yep, probably best to cut it up and glue another lascannon on there . And greenstuff some more advanced daemons on it as well.

Still waiting for the games workshop order to start building mortarion but got this from forgeworld today:

Very nice conversions in here. I really dig the rhino with the corpse cart bodies on the top. Great Idea!

Looking great, the 'fast and sloppy' methods fits the death guard really well. Loving the conversions, esp that second rhino.

After much waiting for the GW stuff (actually already have built a terminator squad in between, but'll post it later I got it. And realized I needed another Nightbringer. So here it goes:

Me building Mortarion, Daemon Primarch of the Death Guard! I try to do step by step, but I work quick and without waiting between steps (like letting Greenstuff dry and stuff like that, I just do everything at once, so It's kind of hard to remember to photo the steps. )

First get Two Nightbringers and The Scibor Minis Angel of Death guy (which is basically thought of as Mortarion from the start). Cut the scibor guy in half (which is damned hard actually). Didn't find my miniature saw so did it with a kitchen meat knife. Took hours.


Greenstuffed it together:


This stage is actually lots of thing done. Both hands have been cut and repositioned, and much more.




Sizes:
The terminator is really big BTW


And added the wings (also a whole lot of more work than it seems)!



So next in modelling is the waist area and some tubes made of bass string going the whole lenght to make everything strong so it doesn't break!

Wow great stuff Mortarion is comming along great and I like the Corpse Cart piece on rhino that gives me ideas I may have to borrow that one but do it a little differently.
