    What have I done! re-entering the hobby at the deep end...

    So after a year or so on inactivity, I've decided to re-enter the hobby now I've got some free time (and money) to spend doing something productive. Thing is, I've gone and agreed to take part in this mini tournament - only 500pts (so combat patrol esque rules) but I have no Idea what I'm doing!

    I've picked up some eldar, put together a list (which I don't even know if it'll be that good) and was wondering if anyone at warseer has some advice (other than to get obliterated) with the following list;

    5 * Eldar Rangers
    5 * Striking scorpions
    10 * Eldar Guardians w/scatter laser
    10 * Eldar Guardians w/scatter laser
    1 * War Walker w/scatter laser and missile launcher
    1 * Viper w/scatter laser

    I think there will be a mix of guard, orks, space marines, and I don't know if what I've gone and got is a load of rubbish - I'm just wondering how to use these units in such a way I don't lose every game.

    it would be helpful to post the rules for the tournament so we can give you better advice and know what you may be facing too.

    I agree with Axeman....

    In the mean time drop the missle launcher on the warwalker and add another scatter laser to it. This keeps it focused on one thing, killing people. Vyper with scatter laser works good for flank armor shots. I am personaly a fan of guardians, so I like them, but I add a lock with spear to the unit. Also, from a legality point of view, you need a HQ.

    If it's exactly the same as Combat Patrol, a squad of Wraithguard is tough as nails. Personally I prefer Enhance on my Wraithguard, but Conseal is also very nice. I would probably take the missle launcher on the Vyper as my 2nd unit.

    The jump jet war walkers that are troops are nice. The Vyper with AV11 with twin Pulse lasers would be insane as well.
