Keep up the good work, TDG. I, for one, understand that the word "rumour" does not mean "Information sourced from the Library of Congress".

It is a simple fact that nothing is 100% for sure until it is released. Up until the very moment of release, GW has the ability to (gasp) change their mind. If the source of the rumour comes from an early design idea that gets cut, it doesn't change the fact that it was still a rumour.

I agree. I like Harry's system where he'll list the rumors and he'll put the rumor source next to each one. And then when the release actually hits we have a good idea of who had the accurate rumors. For me I don't believe anything is fact or obvious until it's a fact that it's on a shelf and can be purchased of obviously on a shelf and can be purchased. I personally like to speculate about releases because it's fun and speculation in past rumors threads have caused people like Harry to jump in and say "well, here's a little more info I have since you guys are speculating!" and that's always fun to get more rumors.

Then your lack of imagination will let you in for a BIG surprise, lucky you! As I've said though I've heard nothing of more daemonic type mounts / units not saying it won't happen but it would go against GW trying to cement the differentiation between chaos army books.

The funny thing is using the Nuln seige cannon as an example of the lying liars and the lies that they pass on as rumours is that there really was an actual model made. GW do change their mind. Run out of time on projects. So things get shelved. I accept that any rumours that appear 12 months out are likely to be wrong but this is mainly due to the design process rather than the rumourmonger being a dirty filthy liar.

Is it just me or is this whole rumor Jihad getting a bit out of hand? I mean even if the rumours aren't true? So what? At least in my opinion it's entertaining to read and to think about the potential things that could come out.

A rumor is just that, a rumor. If somebody wants to make something up out of thin air by all means, let them. No reason not to. People lie all the time, do we go out of our way to cut out their tongues so they can't lie again?

Anyways, I look forward to what GW has in stock for us for the barbarians of the north :-)

I think TheDarkGeneral has proven to be reasonably accurate in the past, hasn't he? (Again, not everyone is 100% accurate all the time, not even Harry or Hastings). Still, so far, the things that seem pretty clear are:

- WoC to hit in july/august.
- New Dragon Ogres.
- New chariot/warshrine.
- Finecast characters (this is as much a sensible guess as simply rumours).
- No new marauders / new warriors unlikely. (With no rumours on this coming up so late into it, and actually reliable rumourmongers saying it won't be the case, this seems solid too).
- Marauders to be nerfed.
- Some big gribbly (either a new shaggoth/kholek model, or something entirely new).

Less reliable stuff:

- Throgg to be one of the new models.
- Possibly marked riders with mark-appropriate mounts (i. e. steeds, juggernauts, etc.)
- Other random mumbo jumbo.

I guess we'll know in a couple of months, but so far I feel we're getting too many "definite" yet unlikely rumours too early for them to be true. While I don't doubt the rumourmongers' honesty, I have to doubt either their interpretation of their sources' words, or the honesty of said sources.

As to the dual-kit for KhornateBerzerker/Khornate Knight, "y" said the daemon prince was just a taste of the easy cross over model sprue capability, and multiple mounted figure types would be next (the new Empire griffon model prime example) followed by a highly probable mix of the two with Chaos daemonic mounted units.

What can we read in this? They're looking into cross-over compatibility. That's really it. Daemonic mounted units can easily be stuff like the Bloodcrushers, which are dual-system, or simply have generic daemonic mounts with some bits to customize the mounts so they work for your army. They might get a Khornate cavalry kit out, but I very much doubt that we'll get models for all 4 gods. Too many kits at once, or too big a kit to make as a single box. Instead, the rumour we got was "daemon-mounted riders for all gods".

Again from what I've heard remove the slash, they sound very different in aesthetic and whilst I suppose they could be a combo kit or perhaps share one frame as with the recent empire releases I wouldn't count on it.

Also thanks Urgat for clarifying what I thought was a perfectly clear previous post of mine regarding Throgg, no wonder we get these chinese whispers. How long I wonder until we get a new rumour of a plastic war mammoth

My apologizes Miredorf, but when you have $400 per model invested into something, it'd be frustrating to see it released in a much cheaper plastic kit (which I'm sure would be MUCH easier to maintain) for all to buy, and de-valuing my models. Of course on the other hand, it'd be much easier for me to add 6 more so I can have the CHOSEN NUMBER of War Mammoths!!!

A War Mammoth kit would be somewhat larger than most monster kits, closer to the Mumakil for Lotr or the Apocalypse kits for 40K .

If Chaos gets so many unit, they will get plenty of conventions. I think That would make them the army with most units in game.

About the war mammoth kit, I think adding such a monster will be overdoing it, I would leave that for storm of magic or that kind of stuff.

The points for the chaos warriors, if as rumored are about 12, even with the lower I and having to pay chaos armor for +2, that would leave then in 14 points, compared to saurus I still think they would be great

Sorry, but I was just having a trawl through the thread and came across this. Though it's obviously much less common nowadays, you're very wrong to say that stuff doesn't get leaked at all. Grey Knights are a good example, and Ogres an even better one.

Both of these got leaks *eventually*, quite close to the release. However, they are excellent examples of campaigns of deliberate lies from Stickmonkey and steppingonyou, respectively, who had been making up stuff for months. Those are in fact great examples of how frauds are allowed to go on, and anyone who objects gets shushed.
