Amazing release once again. I just wish they would upload some pictures of painted models on their website. The models have so much detail it is not possible to see it clearly in an unpainted model.

Dont really like them at all. They look so stiff. Maybe when they are painted....

They're certainly different from the artwork of the book I had been expecting something a bit more bestial in appearance but I guess the armored fire elemental look is certainly unique.

they arent ment to be bestial, thats the destroyer. generally the imagery is all wrong, originally in ancient russian mythology (yes there suprising is such a thing) a k'daai was a large, almost firey orangutan like thing with backward legs, similar to many cattle. it was a black smith also.

Don't think I like them, though hopefully my opinion will change once I see them painted up.

    £36 for three? That's so...reasonable.

I was a bit surprised, as I thought they were supposed to be more like molten slag, but I think they'll grown on me, and yeah, the idea for a fire based C'Tan makes sense!

Not a fan of these - they aren't terrible, but not up to FW's usual high standards. £36 for 3 is a decent price for them though.

they look like a master painters dream, but they will be very difficult to pull off successfully. I would forsee the armor plates being black or dark dark brass or steel, with bright white/yellow/orange/red flames all over....the technique used on the eldar avatar will be very useful here.

Not really, no, but it works well, so why not. I'd like painted pics some day, it's kindda hard to decide if I like them or not as they are.

I thought K'daai was just a mystical blacksmith of sorts, who lived in iron house or something that was surrounded in flames - if so, that fits these pretty well: spirits/daemons in iron suits of armor surrounded by flames.

    The faceless one is ace.

Roughly $20 (USD) a pop - not terrible for the size and detail on them. I might pick some up if I can find a use for them.

I can't say I like them much. I don't think they live up to the usual high quality of Forgeworld or any other GW division.

It just feels like they'll release any old drivel for Warhammer Forge just so they can release something.

Not a fan. I'll pass on these thanks.

    Re: K'Daai Fireborn up

Not sure where people are coming from saying that these aren't up to FW's usual standard. This is the best sculpted flame I've seen anywhere in GW's range. And look at the texture of the metal, it's like beaten copper. Also note the runes adorning each individual piece of scale.
Though they don't grab the attention as much, the sculpting seems to be technically better than FW's other monstrous infantry (see Bile Trolls, Plague Ogres, Skinwolves).

    Re: K'Daai Fireborn up

I think there are three reasons these don't feel right to me. Firstly that they are two tall, secondly not broad enough, thirdly too much like a suit of armour with flames coming out. Not exactly sophisticated for the masters of daemonic engineering.

Technically these are very well sculpted, but I think they would have looked much better if the flame part was maybe a third smaller and the body was a third bulkier. Plus some mechanical looking parts thrown in for good measure.

    Re: K'Daai Fireborn up

They're summoned by the priests of Hashut and bound in runic armors, why the heck should they have mechanical-looking parts? They're not chaos-dwarf made, they don't need to have the same bulk ratio as dwarfs either.
I love the contrast, personally, it's the same as what hobgoblins provided before (tall and thin), excepted those are bigger. They help further differentiate from regular dwarfs were everything is dwarf-stocky.

I really want to see some painted. They look like they have loads of detail, but it's hard to really tell how much/ good it is.
