Empire vs. Skaven - which army will win?

If an exact copy of the same player was playing each list, I'd go skaven for sure. The empire chaff would be seen off pretty quickly in most cases, leaving the characters to be ganged up on or picked off.

The biggest problem that empire list has is the single block of Halberds which I assume is also filled with characters makes an easy target for the Doomrocket + warpcannon + dreaded 13th combo. Its how I always beat lizardmen when they tried the Slann bunker.

That Empire list has to be the worst I have seen. My vote is for Skaven.

Considering the OP hasn't posted back here since making this thread, does anyone else get the feeling of this being a case of 'my friends all say my Empire can't beat his Skaven but they're wrong and the internet will prove me right' with the OP thinking in his head his list was rock solid and we'd all vote for it making him look awesome?

This isnt 40k where you win on your list selections, a game is won or lost in the movement phase.

No, the OP is skaven. He was countering someone who posted the Empire list by saying "my list will roll all over you" to demonstrate that that many mages in a 2k game was not the smartest idea. Link is in the first post

Yes, it was me who startet this and I just want to get more feedback (I play skaven). The discussion in the original thread was that with the help of the magic phase the empire list would be very good - and I want to ask the community what they think about this.

I have done no more post because I want to have neutral opinions from the community (working in a market research institute I know how bad a poll can be if there is to much influence from one side).

I did not look at the proposed army lists and just voted Skaven victory as I am afraid that Empire can not reliably beat a top Skaven list. We can beat some armies they don't like though.
