You forgot the supporting attack, so exactly 25.
Mind you, 3 heroes in a maxed out unit somewhat qualifies as a character deathstar, which is kinda cheesy (not that there isnt worse out there).

Except it is so dirt cheap. 3 'bare bones (ie. lance, shield, horse) paladins is less than 250 pts, so it's actually viable to run two of those units in, say, 2400-2600 pts and have spare points for a damsel/magic items.

The fun one for me was having a friend flip out over swarms when I brought them with my VC army with the previous book. I'd bought some neat models and wanted to use them (Reapers murder of crows).

Turned into some nice murder machines for their points since my opponent dismissed them as worthless until they were right in the thick of things and shredded his artillery, essentially on their own as well as one of his heroes. They remained on the field until the end while my opponent was frothing at the mouth about how they were broken and cheesy.

It's totally true, though, at least for me. My horses always seem to do as much or more damage than the riders, no matter what army it is. Those silly ponies have the blessings of the gods.

My mounts also do more damage than their riders... of course I'm talking about Mournfangs.

I see this a lot. No swarms are not broken and cheesy. Your friend played poorly by dismissing them, then got touched in an impure manner when they hit his lines.
