Just been speculating... I mentioned I wasn't much of a fun of the Stalker's legs... I wonder how easy it would be to kit bash it with the legs from an Arachnarok Spider? Add on some green stuff mechanical parts (say pistons under the knee joints and such) and paint suitably metallic, could possibly work.

On a related note, I wonder how long before someone snatches Illuminor's bottom half as the starting point for a Sarpedon conversion

Everyone's going on about the legs of the Stalker, but did anyone notice how much cooler the model looks if you think away the top part, IE the triarch and his extended spine?

If I ever get those Tomb Blades, the Necron rider will not be added, the weapons put on the sides, and the blades in front. This may redeem the model, failing that I'll just convert some of my Destroyers into Tomb Blades.

Still can't get over how silly some of the new Necron models are with Necrons piloting machines.

Yo dawg, we heard you like machines so we put a machine in your machine... etc.

Not a bad video, helps give a size of their scale. Wraiths are huge!

Mostly new players (new to necrons at least) will be short on them, popular internet wisdom dictates people only use immortals as core, for those starting out only the battleforce and warriors have scarabs. I was hoping that another option would be open to obtain them, of course at this moment I personally think all sprues should have 1 swarm (all infantry sprues at any rate) as the scarabs themselves don't leave a large footprint to implement. Its fine though, despite my complaints I still will get me 3. I think I have 18 scarab swarms at the moment but its always nice to have options available.

I dont think its a "logic" thing so much as it would have been "nice". If that makes any sense.

I'm thinking these would make excellent necron titans. Might use them for adeptus titanicus, have a titan legion invade a tomb world.

I use the term in its most ironic way, wisdom isn't dictated, it is learned. By combined the three words together "popular (you know, like Jersey shore...) internet (a hive of scum and villainy) wisdom (erm on the webz?) its sort of impossible to combine popular and wisdom and internet into one term without raising an eyebrow.

Humm, I actually think the tomb spyder looks better without it's back cover (with the scarabs and powercore exposed).

The wraiths ... well I don't know they look kind of off to me for some reason. I might be biased towards to the older models, and it might just be the paintjob, but they don't look quite right. There is almost a Tyrgon-esq look I suppose I don't dig.

The triarch stalker though just looks ace. It's far more imposing than it's stat-line would imply though which could make for a great psychological effect absorbing fire away from the rest of my army.

I am ever more tempted to pick up a Triarch Stalker, and Obyron.

Obyron makes my Lychguard worth taking! Lots of teleporty jumpy about nonsense to keep my opponent on his toes! And as I use a LOT of infantry, being able to light up say, horde infantry, and bag twin-linked? Priceless. Absolutely priceless!

Re: BoW Necron 2nd wave release date

Its interesting to read everyone's unit review as there seems to be no consensus amongst them (say unlike the universal dislike of flayers) hopefully this translates into more diverse Necron lists as that can only help the game.

Re: BoW Necron 2nd wave release date

As a Necron player, I really don't see any weak options once the range is complete. Right now, my Lychguard don't see light of day, as I await their transport to come out.

I absolutely swear by my Necron Warriors. Unit of 20, deployed on an objective, Cryptek attached, and Ghostark lurking nearby, ready to bump them back up. That is a nasty, horrendous prospect for any army to take down. Cryptek has the lightning field, ether crystal and the frankly compulsory Voltaic Staff. There is precious little that they cannot directly threaten, and I'm yet to have them forced from the objective they're holding. The more distraction they provide, the more my Immortals and other units have free reign to go seize objectives. Yet for all that, the rest of my list is just as important. The two Annihilation Barges are pretty well general purpose, Phaeron lets my Gauss Immortals stomp about putting the wind up my opponents, Harbinger of Despair lets me get my Tesla Immortals where they need to be.

Seriously not seeing any weak link units in that book. Even Flayed Ones have their role. Only downside to them, as far as I'm concerned is that they require the army to be built around their inclusion. Unit of 10, infiltrating close to an enemy objective, ready to make a mess of things. Sure, they won't likely survive the battle, but they'll tie up a unit of enemy troops. Hell, even 10 Marines are in some kind of trouble against these fellas, more so with a little luck when ressurecting!

I'm not sure where this "Necrons shouldn't pilot things" idea comes from, afaik necron fluff was always humanoid aliens that were transplanted into an android body, it's not like a pre-bio transference Necron wouldn't have piloted vehicles but been physically welded into it instead. The only model that ever suggested Necrons might have welded themselves to vehicles is the old destroyer rules where they counted as Jetbikes (in fact the really old destroyer models were vehicles with a Necron pilot), but they weren't vehicles in any true sense, but loony Necrons who had themselves intentionally modified.

Am I the only person who doesn't have issues with Necrons piloting vehicles? I don't see why they couldn't carry on doing things as they would have done before bio transference took place, that seems a lot more in character.

At first glance it shook me also, just because I get used to the 3rd edition detroyer.
But now I think it makes a lot of sense to have necrons piloting vehicles. So no, you aren't the only person that don't have issues with this...
    Dwarfs: 2W-0D-0L
    Skaven: 4W-1D-0L
    Sisters of Battle: 2W-0D-1L
    Necrons: 2W-0D-0L / (5th: 3W-3D-1L)
    (Tyranids: 6th: 1W-0D-0L / 5th: 9W-4D-9L) (Army sold)

Re: BoW Necron 2nd wave release date

Nope I really don't have an issue with it either, the vehicles they're piloting now as far as I can remember are more or less as they were pre bio-transference so they're just carrying on with them as they were then, as they say if it ain't broke then don't fix it

I think many of the people who feel this way really haven't thoroughly read/understood Necrons (from any edition) wherein the Necrontyr placed their consciousness into a constructed machine and that was it. They didn't become omnipotent, capable of resurrection Necron legions with a wave of their hand or infallible (still awakening in fact, a job given over to crypteks because Pherons are not interested in doing it themselves). Their sanity has degraded, which indicates conscious thought and intelligence not present in a fully artificial being.
