My entire Daemon army gets called cheese in every tournament I play in.

The older I get, the better I was.
A long time ago someone said it was cheesy that the Avatar is completely immune to flame and melta weapons
I guess they didn't know that before trying to shoot 6 melta guns at it
My howling banshees have been called cheesy, because they all have power weapons, and they were attacking a doomed target.

I once proxyed Fateweaver with a pringles can and it was immediately labeled cheese after my opponent failed to kill anything in their first round of shooting. I pointed out it was actually a BBQ flavoured pringles and that shut them up, what a *****!
I got called cheesey and op for having a single blood angels honourguard squad spreading the fnp love to 3 assault squads, 3 chaplains and scouts.......
Oh and 8dc running about with reclusiarch and Gabriel Seth.....

I play Dark Angels. I never had any hope to be accused of cheesiness, but hopefully, come the end of April, my Codex will have been rewritten by Ward under the title "Death by Cholesterol"
I have been called cheesy back in the days of chaos, when they had a good dex.
Chaos lord, mark slaanesh, power fist, combat drugs ( yay overdoses!!!!!), daemonic strength, and jump pack. Used to comet him about like a loon at landraiders...... Oh look its a jumping chaos lord..... He won't hurt my tank, the silly idiot never uses melta bombs, just power fists, and his lord is only str 8 vs my tanks.....
Then they cried when they realised he was str 10, with 5 attacks, and glanced the land raider on 4s......
Come on. Lascannons hurt him.... Oh wait I had a land raider filled with khornate death.

Snikrot + Ghazzy. It is cheesy though...
I had my lobbas called cheesy after they blew up 15 guardsmen out of a blob in a single turn.
Do I understand right that "cheesy" is an overpowered list/selection/unit?
Meh, if it works and isn't evident mathammer then it's fine by me. I'd rather face a cheesy but characterful force than a wholly fluff contradictory mathammer.
People who whinge about your army as/after your chew them up and spit them out need to grow a sense of fun and perhaps if winning is their be all and end all, they need to do more/better research.
Lobbas are not cheesy, they're cheap.........
It's like calling a whirlwind cheesy after bunching a guard blob, having it hit dead centre, not scatter, have them lose 20 models, and then seeing them run or pinned......
For the points you pay for a lobba, its cost is its effectiveness.
Same fore those guard.... Bad positioning on guard players behalf, no cheese...... Mmmmm cheeze burgers.

As a Wolves player my whole army garners this reaction until some stuff happens. Like when my Thunderwolf cavalry take a morale test at Ld8 after the first 3 wounds. "They're only Ld8?"

Likewise, Armored Sentinels of all things, due to my tendency to get them into assaults with things of S6 or lower; Genestealers take a while to go through them, even with Rending Claws... held up a pack of 8 'Stealers and 6 Raveners for 10 close combat phases once with a squadron.![]()

Broodlord. Yes, i've had someone call my broodlord cheesy before. Well, i think it was the broodlord + 12 stealers he was calling cheese. I just gave them all scything talons and adrenal glands. Stealers are currently damn pricey and still only have a 5+ save.
I've had the Doom of Malantai called cheese. While I think he is probably the most cheese worthy unit in the tyranid codex, he's easy to counter. What made this particular accusation notable is my opponent was using a meched up IG list and list tailored all his squads have plasma guns and grenade launchers, with not a single S8+ weapon to be found.
1222. It's a stranglehold. Not an Ogryn neck pinch.
1395. Eldar really hate it when you greet them with "Live long and prosper".
1537. My Rogue Trader does not need to announce his arrival with eight hours of orbital bombardment.
1572. The Navigator has Warp Sight. Not Insane-o-Vision.
1594. Flak armor is not just a muscle shirt with the word "ARMOR" stenciled on it.
Hey noobie, how's things. Yeah I hear stealers are cheesey, but only if your silly enough to not be in cover when they are about..........
Close combat is their turf, if you wanna go toe to toe with them, ya wanna hide in cover.
Nothing is cheesy, I think..... Just how you play the unit in question, and how your opponent deals with them.
Broodlords used to be really evil, even as 0 1 choice, old dex.
Now they are debuffed somewhat, and actually contribute.

I had a similar situation. I believe it was in a 1000pt game, against a SM player. Unfortunatly, whilst he had quite a lot of squads, they had just 1 S8 weapon between them. The Doom dropped near his deployment zone, and basically chewed through his entire army.
In a way, it was a little sad, since before that the game had been very interesting. My army had involved 2 Primes, a tervigon, some genestealers (outflanking), some termagants, some rippers (for a laugh), the doom, and probably something else. His was an infantry army, with a captain and several tactical squads (again, possibly something else too - I can't quite remember). Basically, our armies had clashed in the midfield (I believe he combat-squadded, and advanced to get into rapid-fire and flamer range, whilst I advanced for hopefully self-evident reasons). I lost a Prime and all my rippers (a shocker there), my other prime killed his captain with dual-boneswords, and we basically ended up with a big melee in the centre - my Prime, termagants and tervigon vs a few tactical squads.
Then my Doom turned up and won the game single-handed. I just found it quite sad, since prior to that the balance had been constantly shifting, and it would have been interesting to see who'd win.
