    Issues with the GM.

    So I'm currently in a Black crusade RPG. And so far it hasn't gone...well great.

    The idea of this initially was that the PC's were to build up a chaos cult within the hive city and slowly subvert it to the great and wonderful powers of chaos.

    So far this has happened:

    A daemonic incursion is beginning (Session 1: How? I don't know)
    The Eldar and Dark Eldar are turning up and for some reason Harlequin's didn't murder our chaos worshipping butts!
    We faced a Grey knight and won (Note: None of us are playing chaos space marines, only human characters)
    And there's the god mode GM character who always wins everything.
    Somehow the Night lords have shown up...

    I am wondering just about how to say "It's gone pear shaped mate". It's not exactly the game I signed up for.

    Also has anyone else had problems with GM's in the past?

    I've had a GM that made our DH game way too hard. Not over the top as in Space Marines totting lascannons hard, but four acolytes vs more than a dozen cultists.

    Never had anything quite that bad though. Was it his first time GMing?

    From what he's told me, no. It's not his first time at all, which is what worries me more! If it was his first time GMing then it'd not be so bad because well. First time GMing an all.

    Does he know much about the background lore? Sounds like he's heard bits and is throwing it all together into some big hodge podge casserole of a game...

    The main issuee with the Fantasy Flight 40k RPG's is that you really need a knowledge of the background. Black Crusade can be even worse for this - it's automatically assumed that Chaos is evil and the players are spiky evil killing machines. When that's actually not the point at all.
    I think I can see what has happened, your GM looks to have read the basic rules, read the adversaries in the back and thrown together a story without reading the GM and background sections that show the themes that are meant to be followed for the game.
    Best bet would probably be to have a quiet word with the GM or maybe point him to here? Certainly there are a few people here who I'd imagine would be more than happy to help.

    If you play the tabletop game 40k, try throwing random crap in there like he does. Say it's themed or whatever so he can't compain. Guard vs nids, with eldar and dark eldar fighting randomly around, a couple rogue psykers showing up, and then random orbital bombardments throughout.

    Maybe he'll catch on.

    Offer to run a "one-off" game next time your at a suitable pause in his campaign. Take this opportunity to show him how its done.

    Otherwise, drop the GM. He's nuts
