Nemesis Dreadknights with multiple special weapons

Bit of a strange one came up in a tournament today. I had always assumed that Dreadknights with different special weapons didn't get an additional attack, due to it being against the rules. One of my team mates believes that they do. I have not been able to find any evidence supporting his assertion. The only thing I can think of is that he is confusing it with the Dreadnaught Close Combat rule which says that having two DCC gives +1 attack even if the weapons are different. Have I missed something?

Re: Nemesis Dreadknights with multiple special weapons

Might he be thinking of the Grey Knights FAQ?

Q: Does a Dreadknight armed with two Nemesis
doomfists get an extra attack in close combat? (p34)
    A: Yes.

The Hammer certainly wouldn't allow an extra attack, since it's a [magic] Thunder Hammer. I can't see any reason to think that the Greatsword would either, and I've not seen it played as such anywhere.

You've missed nothing. MCs follow the exact same rules as normal infantry in regards to bonus attacks from close combat weapons.

yup. hence the reason that keeping it with nemesis doomfists is, 99% of the time, the better option as the weapons are ludicrously expensive.

Does the Great Sword offer the same benefit as a sword does to any other grey knight in terminator armour? (+1 to Inv Sv)

No. Just improved force weapon with rerolls to hit, wound and penetrate armour.

if you really wanted +1 attack you could techincally replace another doomfirst with a greatsword I think, barring it saying "a doomfist"

Don't have the rulebook at hand but:
Fists, Hammers etc explicitly say that you need a second one of the same type.
Afaik that is no general rule. It only applys to fists, hammers, lightning claws and maybe some I forgot. But it does not work the other way. If you have power sword and a powerfist you get X attacks with your fist or X+1 with your sword. At least that is how its played in my area. But that could be a leftover from 4th. xD

As they greatsword does not have this restriction you should get +1 for your fist, following this argumentation.

If I'm wrong please give me the page where I can look it up.

    4. Gateway + Treason
    5. Throw alot of dice
    6... PROFIT!

Re: Nemesis Dreadknights with multiple special weapons

The greatsword and doomfist are both special close combat weapons, therefore their use together falls under the last paragraph of the "Fighting with two single-handed weapons" section on BRB page 42. Models using two different special weapons may chose which one to strike with each round bu niether weapon ever gets a bonus attack for fighting with two weapons.

Dux - the section you're talking about, which makes specific exception for powerfists, lightning claws and thunderhammers, is for using a special weapon and a normal weapon. It therefore doesn't apply to this situation.

    Replace one, I'm afraid.

That is true, and you are allowed to replace one of them.

Sara:"Guys relax a zephyr is just a breeze"
Bob:"Breeze my ass, it just took 28 hit points and it's still whistling at me!"

for how many points? not worth it. Neither are 2 of the 3 ranged weapon options.

25pts to reroll wounds and hits is kind of worth it, also I can see the only replacing one sword, I was just kind of looking at it differently before.
