Everyone says the Etheral will die quick but I've only lost him once in 9+ games and then none of my units ran.

I've never ran many XV8s and never really stuck to a fixed build; the most success I've had is missile pods and the second weapon I change depending on my mood. Right now I'm sticking with flamers for that over watch buff.

I'm not sure about my XV 88 builds, I see no value in adv stabilisation any more as I can move and snap fire. So I went for multitrack to get some use from the SMS

Yeh ive had a very similar experience to yours, for theme Reasons my army has no XV8s and a ton of Firewarriors, they did decently in 5th and they are better in 6th Ive found the bastion invaluable though, especially for keeping Honourguard shooting

I've gone for Aegis lines for that 4+ cover - I know my HG wont benefit from the 2+ cover save but they make a great road block.

With almost 30" of defences to place I get a 4+ for 2 or 3 units depending on what I use.
