In terms of hobby love, how would you celebrate a Lottery win?

Me, I've been chewing this over, and I've come to the following conclusion.

Harnessing the power of Warseer, arrange a series of Tournaments. Worldwide. Regional heats. State/Province finals, with the top player of each race moving on to the next level. All culminating in an all-expenses paid trip to the world finals....probably in London, or someone else cool! Winners get first class tickets, 5 Star hotels, and then they battle it out over a week (remember, I've just won the lottery!) to find the greatest player of each race in the entire world. No prizes, beyond international bragging rights, nifty certificates, and a free holiday when you attend the finals!

It would be glorious! And also free to enter! And I could get a pimped out set of armour for it too!

What would you do??

I like your idea, but I would also build a high end battle bunker, independent of gw. Rather than being a store, I would run it like a private club like the elks or the masons.

I'd buy as many stocks as I could and I'd keep going. Everytime one of the board got a divorce and had to offload shares I'd Hoover them up.

It depends though if it was regular lottery or euromillions. Euromillions. I'd go for a controlling share.

I'd buy an appartment to turn into the mother of all hobby rooms. And I'd hire a commission painter full time.
I might also start a company of my own, producing my own miniatures and rules.

Lets see, I'd pay off the dedts of my family and close friends, create collage funds for my nieces & nephews, set my parents up so they won't have to worry about being cared for when they're older.

For myself I'd like to create the perfect games store, hire a very competant staff to run the business and simply enjoy the hobby I love but in reality I'd proberbly try to suicide Charly Sheen style after having all my blood replaced with that from a tiger.

Nice large house - replete with nice large gaming room, ebay freely and without care Epic tyranids, chaos and maybe a warmonger or two. With all the (additional) spare time I would have a nice paint station and some dispay cases for all my millions of miatures.....

Invest in some smaller companies to give them a boost. I am not a bussiness person, so letting others do the work seems better to me. I will get some playtesting done and be content.
A personal game hall with full displays, guest room and a bar as a result, some commision painters will get a lot to do! The above ideas about tables sound good to me.

Most of it would be used for other more sensible things though. The money I get from that after a nice life can be used for long term hobby love as far as I am concerned.

Perhaps you could have a chat with the member that was intent on recreating the entire siege of Terra for one game?

I'd celebrate with a big house, car, top of the range electronics, spread a bit of cash around my close friends and family and then retire, and live the rest of my life in comfort. As much as I love Warhammer, it'll never be anything more than a hobby, and my riches would only be invested to it to the point where I might have a fully kitted out game room and a nice selection of armies. Any more investment in it than that would be a pointless waste to me.

Honestly, I don't know that I'd really change my gaming habits all that much - I'm a starving college student living in an apartment so I have other spending priorities! When I eventually have a house, I'd like a dedicated game room of some kind though, so I suppose some of the money would go towards making sure there was a nice table or two, enough terrain, etc.

I'd probably invest more money into terrain than I currently do, since I'm of the opinion that most wargaming terrain is way overpriced. Other than that, I'd just feel less guilty about the models I do purchase. I don't really want heaps more minis than I currently have, though, since I don't have time to paint them all as it is.

EDIT: Actually now that I think of it, I would go ahead and pick up minis for a few games that are on my "to-do" list like Rise of the Occulites, Relics, and a handful of Foundry minis that I can't currently bring myself to buy. I would also probably try to commission a few sculpts of things that I know will never be made.

Thinking about it, I would be tempted to get enough of a stake in GW so I'd have the power to make Mat Ward write every Armybook and Codex, then sit back in a black leather swivel chair and watch the internet implode as I cackle maniacally and stroke a fluffy white cat.
