    Warhammer world event calendar

I could be reading too much into this, but interested to know what others thought/knew

If you look at the Warhammer world event calendar you know that The vampire count book came out mid-late Jan, then just over a month later vampire count artwork is on display

The empire army book just came out and low and behold, empire artwork will be on display early May

Now they have a new artwork exhibit coming out the second week of July, so new army book coming out in the middle of June?

Doesn't have to be Warhammer Fantasy, does it? Could it not be for 6th edition 40K, rumoured to come out about that time?

It is very uncommon to have an army release in June or July, usually those months are reserved for expansions and new editions of FB/40K.

The timing is definately interesting. Based on past releases 6th Edition 40K should be up for a July release. This is what I'd assume the exhibit would be tied in to.

However, if the 1-month delay for related art exhibits is consistent, it does make things interesting. It effectively cancels out 40K entirely, as it wouldn't be tied to the new edition, and I don't think GW have ever released a codex/armybook a month in advance of it's new edition of the game. I'd presume Lord of the Rings is also unlikely, given that GW would presumably be gearing up and throwing most of their resources into a Hobbit movie tie-in for the end of the year.

That only leaves Fantasy, but as Avian says, June is very rare for an Armybook - last one was Hoards of Chaos as far back as in 2002.

Personally, I think I'd put my bets on a 6th Edition 40K related exhibit - GW just setting up the exhibit earlier than usual to boost hype.

Didn't the beastmen come out right before 8th ed? If I recall there is actually a couple 40k codexs that are rumered to potentially hit right before their new edtion, can't see how it could be anything fantasy related, but they they only thing you can really cont on staying the same is that things change so who knows.

The other two 40K "wave" releases this year did not get an exhibit.

It probabaly is the new 40K edition release but i always cross my fingers and hope for an earlier than rumoured Dwarf release

Needless to say, it may be something worth keeping an eye on to get other future releases rounded to a month or so

Seems unlikely to happen now. There was speculation that (mainly) Chaos might arrive before the edition change but I think the only real rumour was that they would be the first 6th ed book, with no real time frame attached to it.

It's most likely to be a collection of 40k artwork (25 years plus new edition), culminating in some stuff for the new book I'd imagine.

    Re: Warhammer world event calendar

Seeing as how Gw seems to be streamlining there systems, I have suspected for a long time that they are aiming to have a three month rotation for releases. So Fantasy one month, then 40k the next, followed by either a LOTR or a special release, then Fantasy, 40k and so on.
I also think as Far as Fantasy is concerned we are going to see 3 armybooks along with one special release a year. I expect this year to see a Dogs of War type supplement along the lines of Storm of Magic and one more armybook, either Chaos or Dwarfs.
    But what do I know?

    You're all wrong. It's Fishmen.

Honestly, the 40k 25th Anniversary stuff is the only thing that makes sense to me. But then again, I have nothing to back it up with.
