Gotta convert them ALL!!

Hi there,
I’ve been in the hobby for year, mainly for the modelling aspect. I love conversions and love art that makes you want to make it real. Some official minis sometimes end up being a let down when compared to the art they are based off; I really get a kick out of trying to make conversions that actually look like the awesome drawings.

Years ago I started a TS army based on this Adrian Smith drawing from the 3.5 Codex (the good one).

My brother interpreted the scheme and so I set off. I did a squat, a termi squat, a lieutenant and a Lord. Then real life kept me occupied for year.

Finally, after hording tons of conversion bits and pics I found Greyall’s awesome work on bolterandchainsword. So I decided this was the time to finally make real all the ideas I had in my head.

I’ll be making mostly TS but I also like Pre heresy stuff, artscale/truescale, steampunk... I just really like converting and plan on doing so until I convert ALL the stuff I have. Enjoy !!

First WIP is my TS Dreadnought Sphinx…. Which when compared to the Dread base looks enormous. So it is now going to be a Defiler. Problem now is where to put the cannon.










Used Greyall’s awesome Tzeench raptor feet with this one. I used the legs on metal raptos for the arms.

As for the Defiler cannon, could you put it on the back, so that it appears to pop up over the shoulder/head to fire?

Yeah, the Defiler cannon could be in the back and slide in one shoulder or directly have it be one of the arms... stupid cannon, this was supposed to be a Dread not a Defiler ... that said, it might grow even more: I'm giving it Titan lower legs

Here is a WIP of an Iron Priest with the Oblit virus mounted on a robotic Thunderwolf/Dreadnought (this one WILL fit in the Dread base). He's for my barbaric looking project


And speaking of Oblits, here is my take on the TS version. I think the fluff for Oblits sounds too much Iron Warrior specific, so instead of a tech and flesh theme this one will be tech and Tzeench warpfire.
