Re: The Hills Hobbyists' "Army Challenge" Thread ... and stuff
Those knights look good. they'll look excellent as a unit alongsode the rest of the army too.
The shield looks good and simple so won't be too much of a pain to do repeatedly.
For scratches, i just paint a line of boltgun with a thinner linenof mithril along the centre of it. sometimes i highlight aroind the edge depending on what has been scratchrd (eg paint over metal or cloth stretched of metal shield)

Re: The Hills Hobbyists' "Army Challenge" Thread ... and stuff
From what i can see on my phone monkey island looks cheap!
Hellblaster looks good. could you fit an engineer into the list too?
Did you get much else done after I left yesterday?

Re: The Hills Hobbyists' "Army Challenge" Thread ... and stuff
And if you've seen it cheaper I'll match it.
Not heaps done after you left, a bit more on tidying up the wizard, I'll have to put an army host up soon to see how it's all going. Hpw much more do you have left on your big gribbly?

I've just got the rider and the base now. and the inside of its mouth, though I have absolutely no idea what colour its tongue should be considering it's a beast that is slowly fossilising from the inside out, and from the state of its skin is a fair way along that journey

Re: The Hills Hobbyists' "Army Challenge" Thread ... and stuff
Hi Hi hi!
Hahaha back into it... an update yo!
I'll insert some pics soon. Here's what I've painted since my last post:
An engineer and Slave for Victoria Miniatures... probably come in at around 12 points worth ;v/
An ammo C'Thud for Victoria Miniatures... again only about 6 points.
A Lucious the Eternal - I think he's around 140 these days...
3 Purple Dark Eldar Warriors (one blaster, one splinter cannon) 52 points
2 Red Dark Eldar Warriors (One splinter cannon) 28 points
Then there's the curly stuff...
5 Torsos in the Victorian Trooper redcoat scheme
5 Legs in the Penal Legion scheme
So all up roughly, 238 points (need to check Lucious) and some components...
:v) Happy to be Hobbying!

Also... I'm not sure if the Isabella I painted got counted... that would be 90 points too!

Re: The Hills Hobbyists' "Army Challenge" Thread ... and stuff
Okay, so coming into the Final month for painting here's the standing of points painted
BenSquig: 968.5 completed, 531.5 remaining
triple_double_u: 801 completed, 699 remaining
Notgoodenough!: 752 completed, 748 remaining
Someone2040: 440 completed, 1060 remaining
MotherRussia: 272 completed, 1228 remaining
Quarkonium: 0 completed, 1500 remaining
I've added points I know people have finished even if there's no pictures up yet so make sure you get some pics up soon (I'm one of these culprits). Any pictures not up by the time we have the tournament will not be included in the points. Also for a time for the tourny we have a long weekend for the adelaide cup in March 9th-11th, is this a suitable time to hold the campaign? Or is easter a better option?
Also with the tourny I was thinking go by our previous tournament, but have painting worth the majority and anything unpainted you lose a percentage of what your opponent gives you. For example if you scored 80 for painting, but only painted 1000 points then you only get 2/3rds of those 80 points. Anything unpainted cannot be fielded at all, base coats are fine, so George you can field your massive knights unit. The idea however is you can't really win without have everything painted. Thoughts?
