Haha it even looks like me, what with the big head and all. Shame I'm not that thin IRL though...
...which is my way of saying my gratitudes for the compliment!
I LOVE GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD. Goldmember references aside, you're too kind.
Seriously, too kind.
I'm calling the kindness cops (and sigging you in the meantime).
Have some excuse for progress:
Started another two "plain" Chaos Marines, the left with a Catachan Command head and the right proving that the rather-outdated Khorne Berzerker kit can work with modern-day aesthetics. It's going to be great fun cutting all those sexy Bolt and Plasma Pistols from their not-so-sexy giant fists. Oh yes.
Oh check this, an even worse picture than the last one - a concept Mutie / Mutant model thing. Take inspiration from http://www.jrn-works.dk/gallery/mini...s&model=Muties, mash a poor Corpse Cart zombie with an Ork Shoota, add wires and Green Stuff to taste and voila!
I think the idea works, and I do have a few more spare bits to make a handful more if people want me too?
Til whenever,
Feral
Excellent work all round mate. You certainly have some smooth greenstuff work, and the truescaling is quite seamless. The additions to the Blight Drone and Decimator push those great models to even loftier heights of splendiferousness. Also, I'm diggin the Cartzombie gun servitor. The weediness of the zombie makes the shoota look like a heavy weapon! Definitely 5 stars. Oh and nice paint too.
My nids here!

I'm surprised this log hasn't received more attention, great modelling and and subtle, but very effective green stuff work. Looking forward to seeing more.
Love that corpse cart zombie with the shoota, might have to use that idea some time, really nice work with the true scaling I'll be watching this log!
Very keen to see more of this.
I want you to make more. Great use of bitz. Looks very organic.

Nice kit-bashing on the marines. I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

So many responses........I love it!
Much obliged, I do try! I'm glad I'm pushing all the right hobby buttons. Giant big metaphorical buttons.
I'm one of the lesser known folk on Warseer, I haven't quite got the LOOK AT MY PLOG COS YOU'VE HEARD OF ME factor that a lot of the talent here do.
I'd like to see your attempts if you did have a go. Shame about the lack of proper diverse and interesting official rules. I don't count Forge World's psudo-Conscripts attempt as characterful. :/
I'm delighted to please. I'm like the turtle, making slow and steady progress.
I have been, got three more to the stage the test Mutie is at. I also have enough bitz for one more (rounding them up to a smooth five).
Ah hello Lost Hobbit! I love how you did your Death Guard you know.
If you feel obliged to, I won't complain!
Thanks and since you appear new, welcome to Warseer!
I decided to attack one of the basecoated Plague Marines with paint, to see if I could make the purple work:
I like to think I did, I'll let you decide though! I stuck with an old-school cross because my freehand skills are rusty and I wanted to keep it simple. Plus, if you have big crosses on your Power Armour, you are wayyyyyyyy renegade.
Interestingly enough, this is an example of what the purple looks like before the I MUST MAKE THIS DIRTY phase. I'm rather fond of this purple recipe, all it took was Daemonette Hide for basecoat, add in Slaanesh Grey for highlights and Xerxes Purple for shading.
In other progress, I started another three Muties and sculpted another demorganic tendon on the Decimator. I also want to get this first batch of Renegade Militia done (including an Enforcer) and the next one continued onto soon. Always starting models and rarely finishing them as always...
I imagine people will want to share their thoughts, please do!

Absolutely stunning. The paint job looks great too. The Decimator is a particular favourite. Looking forward to seeing more.
Cool stuff, cool stuff! How's the Decimator coming along Mr F? Your blog just nudged me over the edge and I've ordered one too. You know what they say about the sincerest form of flattery..![]()

Loadsa good stuff here.
Loving your truescaling, I've been doing my chaos warband in a similar way with spacers in the legs, waist and shoulders. I've also been putting a little green stuff in the neck bit to raise the head slightly. Seems to work. Check it out if you get a chance, also see this dudes work.

Someone directed me to it, he's aslo working his guys in a similar way and was good inspiration for me!
I am envious of you green stuffing, the little touches you've added to the decimator (which is awesome and huge) are fantasticly done.
I'll look forwards to more excellent models to drool over.
Sprugly
I paint straight from the pot (and i'm not rubbish). So many models, so little time. Spruglys first blog
Fancy that, it can't be coincidence considering the Arkham Asylum poster that is stuck on the face above my painting desk!
Cheers! The Decimator seems to be a fan favourite here it seems, which is good because it will be the centrepiece of the eventual force.
Get in! I'd love to see how you tackle a Decimator in your 2nd edition Black Legion scheme. The model itself has some quite thick cables so you can paint those orange to add interest. Oh I'm excited now for you!
Thank you.
I'm already familiar with Dan the Daemon's work, shame it hasn't been updated in a while! I'm currently giving your log a looksie, I'll add my thoughts in a bit.
Not a very exciting "update" I'm afraid. BasetheRuin wanted to see the Decimator's progress, since it got another demorganic tendon sculpted on the back of one of the leg joints (the other one is yet to be done, but will pretty much look like this one). This picture also highlights the main fault with the kit, in that the leg joints don't fit very well (note the big old gaps). In retrospect, I should of added a bit of thin plasticard to bulk them up, but a tip to remember if I ever invest in another one down the line.
To counteract this horrible gap I shall be blending it together with a smidge of Green Stuff. Problem solved!
Til whenever,
Feral
this is cool. Truescale Marines ftw.
Keen to see the decimator finished, I've yet to see one painted up.
You sir make large hulking men who's career it is to exterminate life in as grisly a fashion as possible down right sexy, take a bow.
Indeed, when they are done well of course (I've seen some real shoddy attempts in my time)!
I've seen a handful on the interwebz, but none of those with particularly dazzling paintwork.
*takes a bow*
I've been chipping away at the Decimator still, it's starting to come to the end of all the putty work so I'll take a few pictures soon!
Meanwhile regarding the test paintjob I did, after some consideration I wanted another go because I felt the purple I did was too dark in the end. All the blending work that went into highlighting the armour was lost in the later glazes. I slightly jiggled the painting method I used and came up with this:
Slighly blurry, but you get the general idea I hope! I toned down the deeper purple shadows so that the much paler Daemonette Hide basecoat and subsequent Slaanesh Grey highlights were what gave the purple the more muted tone than I initially wanted anyway!
Whilst I'm gibbering on about painting, I'm entering a Finecast painting / conversion competition at my local GW on the 2nd June, so I am to this stage now on my chosen entry model:
I look forward to working on my Herald of Tzeentch, here I come Screamer Pink!
