Fantasy Army: Vampires

Hi all, Im at it again with my all mounted lists and i quickly wrote this 1K list while at work (no book in front of me) for purely fun games:

VAMPIRE (LV 2) - Quickblood, Lance, Shield, Heavy Armour, Barded Nightmare

DIRE WOLVES (10)
DIRE WOLVES (10)
DIRE WOLVES (10)
DIRE WOLVES (5)

HEXWRAITHS (5)
HEXWRAITHS (5)

BLOOD KNIGHTS (4) - Std (Vampire goes here)

IIRC this comes to 1000 pts exactly

Plan - Vamp goes with Blood Knights and baby sat by 1 unit of Hexwraiths on a refused flank.
Dogs deploy first to try to dominate deployment and then vanguard
Other hexwraiths on other flank and vanguard to cause annoyance.

Hopefully the BK + Vamp will be a survivable hammer at this points level and a minimum of magic weapons should allow the Hexwraiths to survive while they do their thing

It's an interesting list and surely fun to run.

I will deffo like to try it out, Ill have to see which of my chums will be up for a quick small points game....usual opponents are::

Ogres
High Elves
Lizards
Dark Elves
WoC (Slannesh)
Daemons (Slannesh)
Dwarves

Well, after a hiatus in gameplaying due to moving house, the list will be tried out tomorrow for the first time, probably against my friend's Lizards.
Ill let you know how it goes

Well, the game happened yesterday against my friends Lizards and it was a very close game, unfortunately a loss for the VC on turn 6 when Vampire snuffed it at the hand of the uber-survivable scar vet.
The pivotal turns were:

LM turn 1 - wiped out my flanking Hexwraith unit with magic before they could have much fun on the left flank....b***er!!
VC turn 3 - Blood Knights pounded the saurus block with scar vet till they fled but failed to catch them by 1 inch...b***er!
VC turn 4+5 - Blood Knights + Hexwraiths couldnt hit the Vet to save their lives...b***er dice rolls!!

Overall, it was a fun game and with better dice rolls on my part, could have been so different so this will definitely be the core of my growing Vampires army

Ps...Curse of Years ROCKS!!!
