This was my 4th match of our local league. At the beginning of each month, each player hands in a list, and must use that list for all 3 matches they have during the current month. Each month the lists increase by 500 points starting at 500.

This was my 4th match, first one at 1000 points vs Orcs
He brought

30 boyz (plus Stuff I'm sure)

20 (maybe more) Grotz (used as a screen to give cover saves)
Orc Mech (only close combat weapons)

Set up:
I got first Turn. The Field is covered in Forest and building, its cover saves galore. In the center of the field is a huge piece of terrain that easily blocks out line of sight.
I placed all my vehicles against far wall.
He placed Mob1 closest to me, leaving room for Grot screen. Mob 2 slightly farther away. With Deff Dread infront. Beyond me he placed the Warbuggy as far from me as possible. The death Kopter were placed out of line of sight but close to me.

Dark Eldar Turn 1
He placed his Kopters hoping to steal the initiative, he fails to do so.
All vehicles move north 6-12 inches for better firing. I easily destroy both Kopters as they move into line of sight with no cover. However, all remaining shots go into Mob 1, and maybe kill 4 models.
Orc Turn 1
He moves everything closer, as fast as it can, running as well. Grotz, Dread, Buggy, and Mob 1, move rather quickly, Mob 2 gets bogged down by terrain, maybe moves 5 inches between movement and shooting phase. No shooting.

Dark Eldar Turn 2
I spread out along west edge of board, so most vehicles have multiple targets. Destroy the Dread with both Ravagers. Remaining firepower goes into Mob 1, still getting cover save from Grotz. Maybe kill 4 more orcs.
Orc Turn 2
Almost Identical to Turn 1, everything moves quickly except Mob 2, who again gets stuck on terrain.

Dark Eldar Turn 3
Trying to see around cover of Grotz, I move a venom and Ravager High north. (this failed to work, natural terrain of board gave cover to orc even when looking around Grotz). Blow up Buggy with Ravager2, Guys jump out unharmed. Kill another 4-5 orcs out of Mob 1.
Orc turn 3
He decides to Waaaugh. (we later discuss, we think he did this one turn early). Grotz move south-west, while Mob 1 is able to just barely assault Ravager 1. He destroys the vehicle. M2 finally gets some distance moved. Nobz, move into cover of trees.

Dark Eldar Turn 4
I move units away from Nobz, and move most vehicles atleast 6, to make them hard to his in combat, but still be able to shoot with guys loaded in them. Raider 2, unloads next to Mob 1, Haemi stays in Raider, but gives wyches pain token. Raider 1 positions to shoot away Grotz. Focus fire on Mob 1 brings unit to 5 models + Orc Lord. Double liquifier, + 8 Splinter pistols, cooks Grotz to 5 man unit. Wyches assault Mob 1, and eliminate it before orcs can strike back.
Orc Turn 4
Nobz schabble through forest, Mob 2, moves closer. Grotz and Orc handler fail to injure Raider 1 (only one model in unit has above str 3)

Dark Eldar turn 5
I load wyches back up in raider, and move all vehicles away from enemy, to just shoot him down. Remaining Grotz are easily shot down with splinter fire, and Dark lances easily remove Nobz (instant death is harsh even with a cover save).
Orc Turn 5
Concedes.
Orcs have 1 kill point of the possible 12 kill points.
Dark Eldar have 8 of the possible 9 kill points.
This was maybe the 3rd game the orc player had ever played. His list needs lots of work, more anti-tank at range for starters. His buggy was placed very poorly being as far as it possible could from my army. Nobz do not like dark lances. I suggested trucking all his units in the future, no grotz, and trade the Dread for killa cans.
