    Top 5 Warhammer Fantasy Novels

What are your top 5 Warhammer Fantasy Novels (or anthologies) in order? In the case of an omnibus like Gotrek and Felix then counting the individual books seperately (eg. Trollslayer, Skavenslayer, Daemonslayer etc.)

*I myself have only read 6 books so far so will exclude myself from posting my own list.

The Witch Hunter, all of those novels. Mathias Thulmann rocks.
Besides that, the first ToL Sigmar book and the Shadow King.
    Cheers.

    TOP5?

All Malus Darkblade novels. It doesn't matter in what order since you should read it from the first to the fifth.

Re: Top 5 Warhammer Fantasy Novels

1- Dead Winter by CL Werner
2- Blood of Aenarion by Bill King
    3- Wulfrik by CL Werner

There'd be a very serious fight for 4th and 5th place, I think, especially with many decent older stories on the go. Nevertheless, it's very pleasing to put those three up top seeing as they're fairly recent. It's not often I read a WHF novel that I don't enjoy, mind. The last ones I can think of are Heldenhammer and Empire, which I really didn't enjoy at all. Not badly written, of course, just...uninspired, inelegant and unambitious, despite being arguably the exact opposite of that in topic: magnificent (if gritty) rise of the first truly, long-lastingly successful human who doesn't royally mess everything up (unlike Nagash) or fade away (like Myrmidia...if she even existed).

Nope, the vast bulk of WHF novels have usually been passable at worst (mid-range G&F novels - not awesome, but enjoyable enough reads that keep me page-turning), so putting those three up top really isn't too much of a complaint for the rest of the novels.

Honourable mention to Malekith, one of the major contenders for fourth position.

I really enjoyed Wulfrik and the Sword of Justice/Vengeance books. The Ambassador Chronicles was awesome as was Gav Thorpe's Slaves to Darkness trilogy IMO. Realise that is more than 5 haha!

    1) Trollslayer .
    2) Genevieve ( all of them).
    3) Curse of the Necrach ( the vampire plotting and mindset was just too funny).
    4) Daemonslayer ( i am a sucker for anything to do with a Karak) .
    5) Last Malus Darkblade ( but i am a fan of all).

    Riders of the Dead
Konrad (the first one in particular, and if you've read that one, then the other two complete it for you)
    The Enemy Within

Are the ones that have really stuck with me and that I'd recommend to others.

    1. Thanquol's Doom
    2. Temple of the Serpent
    3. Grey Seer
    4. Dead Winter
    5. Skavenslayer

I am Thanquol's biggest fan. I absolutely love every adventure that the paranoid, scheming, conniving, treacherous, cowardly, arrogant and self-serving Skaven has. He's met Ikit Claw, Queek Head-Taker, Lord Skrolk and Deathmaster Snikch and survived each one, sometimes barely, and even Gotrek and Felix haven't managed to kill him yet and they never will. Grey Seer was my first exposure to Thanquol and it cemented him as one of my favourite characters, his subsequent adventures in Lustria and Karak Angkul made him one of my favourite fictional characters overall alongside Scorpius (Farscape) and Dean Winchester (Supernatural). Dead Winter makes the list for being a great novel and the first Time of Legends novel I actually cared about enough to get and read. And Skavenslayer is a classic, it shows everything you could need to know about Thanquol and why he fails so often.
