Re: Monolith worked me, are we playing it right?
5th Edition has made Melta and Armour ratios are horribly askew. Melta should be a specialized anti-armour weapon, and not fielded by the dozen as a de-facto standard armament for troops deploying to every-which battlefield. Vehicles, likewise, should not clutter the board (unless you're a Mechanized army, I'm thinking Mech Guard and the likes). The prevalence of vehicles is what I find the most stupid, to be honest. Most games are relatively small scale encounters, and a monstrosity like a Land Raider or Monolith should remain lore-accurate, and be a pain in the ass to kill, obviously points cost would go up too, but this would also prevent Land Raider spam fueling silly cheesetastic armies of Halberd-wielding Terminators from flash-flooding from the mouth of a Land Raider and gobbling up everything before them.
Lastly, you really can't blame Melta-spam if the Vehicles are the source of the problem. I think Plasma is fine as it is, if not reducing it would be perfectly fine, as ultimately Melta is what wins out in most lists, due to the prevalence of vehicles, and the lack of utility of Plasma guns, primarily their inability to tackle armour. Glancing AV13 on 6s is NOT qualified AT weaponry, anti-tank should mean just that, TANKS. And having a game-mechanic driven title of "Tank" bestowed upon your weedy alien ****-barge does not make it a true tank, AV14 is what makes you a true tank, imo, and even then, compared to the kind of punishment actual tanks can take, you'd think in the year 40k you'd be encountering similarly tough opposition from tanks.

Well I disagree, a predator is surely a real tank and it is not AV 14. AV 14 is supposed to be nigh-unkillable.
