Kids had some friends on visit so I managed to paint all 7 herders, 3 squigs, 3 squig unit-fillers and basecoat another batch of 6 squigs. That leaves only 2 squigs and the movement tray. However the missus is coming home now so pics tomorrow

Love the converted Blood Bowl Troll and Stone Troll, and the collection of squigs though what the blue one is is eluding me (I have a feeling its one of the original metal Horrors without the arms - looks closest to "Spinner")
Regarding the Troll Unit Filler:
The Banner Bearer is not Niblet - it is actually Makari, Ghazghkull's Former Lucky Totem Bearer from 2nd Ed. The Runtherd With Whip is indeeed from the RT Squig Katapult and the Snotling is from the Marauder MM83 batch.

The blue one is indeed an old blue horror. The arms have been snipped off and used in another project. I think that the blue one and the pink legs with squig head on is pretty much what I have left of the OOP daemons in my collection. I think they`ve found a good home
The snotlings I`ve used as herders, are they also from the MM83 batch as well?

Cool update, I"m myself finishing my unit of squgig though I think my unit is smaller than yours. Can't wait to see the finished result

I`ve also started on the second wolf chariot but it`s a fair bit of work to be done on it.

Update!
The squig herd will consist of 7 herders and 21 squigs. The herders are done:
I`ve mixed in some of those lovely snotlings in the herd. Makes for the same good variety I`m striving for
2*40mm unit fillers, 1*20*40mm unit filler and three normal squigs:
The skin on the squigs turned quite dark. Looks better IRL..Anyhow, as a contrast to the bright skintone on the orcs and gobbos it fits well. It`s also a natural red tone so that the skin palette is similar to the O&Gs and the trolls.
Only have 8 squigs and the tray left before I can call the unit is finished
C&C as always appreciated

This lot was finished on wednesday, but haven`t had the time to take pic before this morning. Was lucky and had some good natural light so I set up a quick lightbox by the window.
The heaviest unit in the army! Only the mushrooms and tray that`s plasticThis is 7 herders and 21 squigs but of course with a fair few fillers. I like the result but I`m not sure on how well the red-purplish skin on the squigs come across in the pics. IRL it looks great at least..
Here`s a better pic of the big `uns block with all of my orc heroes:
And finally, a pic of my army so far, all 1374 points of it:

Planning day for the staff in the kindergarden my kids go to. Got in some hobbytime and prepared the remaining 600ish points for my 2k tournie list:
I made some changes in my list. Didn`t really feel for a second chariot compared to not doing something with my OOP giant spiders. Luckily I had ten new spider riders, never had the old ones. I do have 5 more incl full cdo but they won`t be part of the 2k army I`m taking with me to the tourney. I like how they look so far, think they`ll be fun to paint
The Nigh Goblins block has grown smaller and smaller...but they`re still 45 strong incl 2 fanatics, netters, full cdo, NG shaman and NG big boss so they should serve their purpose. The benefit of having fast cav like the forest spiders will make it worth it I hope. In the Night Goblin block you have some new NGs but mostly older minis with a lot of snotlings in there. I likes them!
Strangely enough I`m not daunted with painting all of these minis. These will be even easier than the squig herd, it`s just about finding the hours to do it

Now while being a good boy and painting on the 4 first ranks of Night Goblins (which are being dullcoated as soon as the wind eases up..) I built on some more stuff. First a Snotling Pump Wagon with Spiky Roller & Flappas:
Really happy with the conversion work here, the spiky roller really came out well imo! The flappas could probably haven been better, but I call it done. This contraption is more comic relief than anything else. I crammed in as many snotlings as I could, or as many as I felt I would manage to paint and show off on the mini as a whole. For the keen eyed you`ll see the same shield as on the goblin chariot. These are from the same tribe. I`ll paint up a shield for the Doom Diver as well so the tribe affiliations are clear. Can`t be letting the Night Goblins take over Anyways, the pump wagon is ready for a paintjob, just need to wait a bit more so I know that the super glue is actually has dried.
Then it`s the Goblin hero that will ride on a gigantic spider with the huge spider rider block:
He`s not done yet, but already a fairly involved conversion. I dare you to name the parts

Here`s the four first ranks of Night Goblins:
I`ve gone for a quite gory style so far but on the herders and these I`ve dropped it. Don`t see these going for it unless they`re forced. Should`ve been painting the next two ranks, instead I started on this beast:
I don`t like showing PiPs as I paint very messy until I tidy up at the very end..ah well, there it is

Nice conversion on that Pump Wagon, and so turquoise Night Goblins are far from the usual scheme ... intriguing ...
Cheers mateI think it came out pretty well, the turquoise. Fits with the rest at least, but it was not planned that it would be so central in the army though, lol!

Good grief, Red Skull, I'm not sure I was ready for such a realistically gory Pump Wagon! :P Looks good, mate, really fun and handy to have around too
Can we get another shot of the Goblins from a slightly lower angle? I can't really make out their robes, and you haven't featured that HUGE battle axe the champion is wielding that well either. It deserves another pic!
That's a pretty funky dice your Goblin hero is mounted on. Erm... Twin dead heads from the Zombie sprue? And the snotling comes from a squig stikka thingy... *Sigh* My brain hurts...Looking forward to seeing the gigantic spider and posse though, mate!

The goblin hero is a 5th ed shaman I think, feathers from the pistoliers plastics, speartip from savage orc boar boyz and the terrified gobbo/snotling is indeed from a herders pike. I think I`ll be doing the forest spider rider unit next, they are more or less done and look rather spiffy so should be fun

Hey Red Skullz, that's a nice army so far and indeed a rather unique colourscheme and lotsa gore. Really fun stuff in here but if I may suggest something, try to match up the look of the O&G's skin and armour with the yellow and turquoise (and the red to a lesser extent). At the moment these colours are very vibrant and somewhat artificial looking and starkly contrast the very natural and gritty look of your O&G. Maybe try using some more naturalistic looking paints for the base of your yellows and turquoises. Like a mustard brown or earthy ochre for the base of the yellow and a bit of a more "dirty" or earthy turquoise. As for the red, try starting out with brown, add more and more red with each successing layer and then start adding bleached bone or something to the red for final highlights. This will make it look a bit more washed out but if you manage to balance it well it still will look like a nice red.
All this should help to get a more cohesive look to your models with the skin clothes and the more colourful parts work together a bit better while still looking contrasting enough (if that makes any sense.). It's a bit hard to balance but I'm sure you can pull it off.
P.S.: Some really nice conversions in here too!
It does make sense, it will be a challenge but that`s part of the fun ain`t itMy aim at least is to mix the best of the colourfull early 90s look with the more "normal" grittiness of today.
Thanks for the help
