Vidhammer Fantasy - YouTube Battle Reports

Hey everyone. I'm still relatively new to this forum but I've read a few requests for some high def youtube battle reports. I figured I put up some links for the ones I've done so far.

I try to get a couple of videos from each of tournaments that I've been to over the past several months but bear in mind that I'm not playing in most of those so I only report what took place, weather it follows the rules or not.

Here are playlists for the tournaments:

    Anthem Games/Tampa November- 2500pts
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA4340C7114A892E4

    Dark Side Comics/Sarasota November - 2150pts
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF5C3C95BAE90D328

    Anthem Games/Tampa January - 2500pts
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCCBB37A6765B4983

    Phoenix Games/Orlando February - 2500pts
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3F7A285C8E99F1E8

    Phoenix Games/Orlando March - 2500pts
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1DC9FC3A5F97911F

And here's our weekly games where we try new stuff and generally argue about the rules and such:

If it's better to make individual links for the videos I can do that too.

I've got several more reports backed up but they are getting a little easier to make now as time goes on. I'm also starting to write up the dialog for an instructional series but it might prove to be to much of an undertaking right now.

Let me know what you think and if anyone has a specific army list that they would like to see used, send me a link and we'll at least give it a shot.

    Keep Fighting!

Demons vs Tomb Kings is as bad a matchup as I can Imagine. Really the Tomb Kings player should have prioritised dispelling Throne of Vines , even if he had to do it in his own magic phase, always something to watch out for. Glean magic is a pretty broken spell too and needs to be watched out for. With Khalida on the field the TKs might have tried to poison the cr@p out of Kairos, although I think he's pretty resistant to shooting.

I like the format though, different to see the game played out in full with the commentary.

Great videos, I actually introduced a friend of mine to Warhammer Fantasy a few days ago, and he found your battle reports on youtube by accident. Since then I watched them all, and he loved them too

Love the format and the matches are always interesting. If you have any Dwarf players around I'd like to see a BRP with them, but I don't really mind what you upload. How often do you upload videos by the way I'm just curious?
I am currently a Dwarf only player.

It's been about one a week but the last couple of weeks I've been working on this instructional series. I'm gonna try to get at least three up this coming week to make up for lost time....I hope

Yeah, Throne of Vines makes life pretty nasty. I'd like to incorporate a testimonial of some sort where the players talk briefly about why they did what they did or their general thoughts on the game. Not sure how it would fit in though. Probably have to be a second video.

    Just watched the 1st report.
Could have saved some time by just introducing the units as they were all deployed instead of one at a time.

Sad that the stormvermin Mournfang battle was off screen the entire time.

It would be pretty cool if you could get some epic close ups.

Hope the next are a little more enthusiastic.

    Hey,

Really enjoy the professional way you do your battle reports. I can see you're going for a distinct style from the typical static images with narrative.
That being said, here are some suggestions:
    - as with above poster, you are a rather monotone. Some prosody and emphasis would help keep the viewer/listener's attention
    - your style is very first-order descriptive. While this is great for faithfully retelling the game, I feel I get more out of reports when people go beyond this and describe the implications of actions, etc... Not so much what is literally happening, but what it all means/could pan out to
    - related to the above point, I consume battle reports as radio without watching the video, usually while doing mindless work. Putting a stronger emphasis on explanation versus description in the narrative helps people like myself get more out of the reports.
    - consider pausing the video at times when there's a lot going on / lots to say / tactical considerations

Hope you enjoy the constructive criticism, and keep those reports coming!

I think I'm getting better but it's a learning process and probably will be for many many months.

I will be adding new videos by the end of this week that will be narrating my own battles in a recent tournament. I only filmed one of my games but I took pictures for one and will reenact the other. This way I can talk about the logic behind everything that I did and what I was thinking. I know there are a lot of people that like that format so hopefully it will go well even though it is mostly still frame.
