You have to abandon this idea. Hitler and his cronies ruined the swastika forever, even if they got it backwards. Sauvastika, Manji, symbol of Thor swinging his hammer, it doesn't matter. In the West at least, it's immediately offensive.

Quite frankly, even if it wasn't daft and offensive, I think that adding details that small seems to be beyond your modeling and painting skill

@ the OP. Do what you'd like. I think you know that lots of people will be offended by the iconography. If they wouldn't play games against you, you don't have to play games against them.

On the other hand, if you want to play games against them, you should probably try and avoid icons that will upset them in your painting.

I agree that the templar cross is a better idea. It's been about 800 years since that symbol brought a universal sense of dread to any community I can think of. In the case of the swastika? Too soon.

EDIT: Also, I'm curious to know how many people have reported the original post for offensive material.

In addition to Captain Brown's comments which I endorse and fully support may I draw your attention to the Posting Guidelines which state

24) Using the symbols and markings of 'real world' nations/regimes outside of their original, historic context, on models or in illustrations - will not be allowed on WarSeer because they may cause offence. By this we mean we will allow the posting of photo of a model of a German Tiger Tank complete with the relevant Nazi markings because it is in historical context - those marking were applied to such vehicles, but we would not allow a photo of a Space Marine with Nazi era markings to be posted. This restriction is not limited to Nazi emblems but to any 'real world' emblems used outside of their original, historical context.

which, if had been read by the OP and other posters in this thread, would have negated the need for this thread in the first place.
