How to paint ruby's on the Space Wolf models?

I've never found a good way to paint the diamond shaped gems that are all over the Space Wolves models. Has anyone seen a tutorial? I'm stumped.

I can paint the eldar style oval gems but the technique doesn't transfer over the diamond shape.

    Any help appreciated!

A reasonable approach is to shade down to the point (the middle bit) with your caustic at the (outer / backmost) edge, then do VERY fine line highlights in an off white across the ridges, followed by a tiny dot of pure white on the point.

Yeah, one of my skaven models had noe of those dimond shaped gems.....i used scab red then painted bands of blood red mixed with SW grey. Then used skull white to pick out the hard edges near the point of the diamond shape. Looks alright from a distance. Blending isnt really do-able at that scale so the banding of the colours works alright.
