The worst I have ever experienced was back in 2008 when my old Doombull/Minotuar BoC army destroyed some snotty 16yr old brat Vampire Army after he was taunting me all the way through the deployment about how VC were epic and my BoC were a "Crap list, and crap painted" - Sure, I aint no Picasso, but it riled me a bit, because there was no need. I was going through some serious issues with anxiety/depression problems at the time, and found a bit of escape in gaming, so the confrontational/aggressive/piss-taking stuff didn't exactly do wonders for my self esteem! He was one of these kids who got everything given to him by his parents because he asked for it. Something that irks me a little about anyone.
Anyways, when my Doombull killed his Vampire Lord in a challenge (that he instigated) on turn 3, and the rest of his army started crumbling away very quickly, he lost his temper a bit.
Lots of swear words, a few attempts to smash some of my models (which other people stopped him from doing) and a threat along the lines of "Gunna go get my Dad, cos he will kick the **** out of you" later, he got thrown out.
The most ironic thing was that he came back in a few months later, apologised to me, and the next day apparently he bought in his new BoC army that he had started collecting....
Seen a few cases of people generally being a bit prissy, the best though was for the 25th anniversary of 40k, 2 small goups queing, waiting for the store to open, squaring up to each other as to who got there first and who was and wasnt going to get the pin badge, bearing in mind that there were 25 badges and who every got there first, they were all the first 8 people in the queue!!!! Best case of idiots being idiots as far as im concerned!
Anyway, I have to agree with you that I simply don't understand the thought process of people who'd come here to lie about their imaginary exploits to random strangers on the Internet. It's so alien to me that Meriwether's claims that most of the thread is ******** and imagined just baffles me. I mean, most of the people here can't be mentally ill enough to do so?
That's pretty big...
Just yesterday, I read an article on Cracked.com about supposedly impressive things that are actually easy to get. Turns out, black belts are one of them. When you have absolutely no standard skill or achievement level, any bloke off the street can start teaching a class and give any other bloke off the street any colour belt he/she sees fit. Half the guys here very well may have a black belt, but to me, that doesn't mean much.
Hell, the belt I'm wearing right now to keep my pants up is black. And the extent of my fighting skills probably amounts to limp-wristed nerd slaps. But I'm good at them!

I was in GW Birmingham on Saturday looking at some of Fantasy stuff, and a group of people were trying to look at the new White Dwarf, one of them just punched me in the ribs, Blue Shirt stood right behind me never said a word.
Went and spent money in Tesco instead.
Well, I needed a bottle of water and some headache tablets...
A guy was playing a game of WFB against my friend at a FLGS. When my friend went to the bathroom he measured to see if his giant I think it was, was in range. Can't remember exactly what it was as he was using my Rancor mini to boot. He was out of range and lamented it to me. That was cheating but I let that go rather than pick a fight at that point but when my friend comes back and the guy had his turn, all of a sudden he is in range, I called him a cheat and the mook took offence, as if I impinged on his 'honour'. It was almost cliche, we stood chin to chin for about 20 seconds before I said **** it, he wasnt worth it. I never take it back though.
Trying to play it classy here, I am sorely tempted to announce his name in this post. I will go as far to say he lives in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.
When we were kids I used to play my brother all the time. I remember one occasion when my Vermin Lord annhilated part of his army in some no doubt cheesy manner and he literally punched it in a rage. Unfortunately for him he aimed at its Doom Glaive, which left him with a nasty scratch and my Vermin Lord completely unharmed.
One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic.
I have never got into a fight or seen one due to games of 40k/WHFB, but I do feel the nerd rage come on me far too often and im kinda ashamed about it tbh. At my age i should be more relaxed about things right? Its just a game after all. i find that i get more upset if i havent played in a while, almost like im not used to getting screwed over. The worst thing is when people back seat game or make comments about my game...that drives me up the ********** wall. As luck would have it im pretty cheerful most of the time so when i tell someone off they tend to listen.
Worst think ive ever seen in GW is myself hitting on girls in my local store....one of them never came back again.... :P
"Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules." - Walter Sobchak, The Big Lebowski.

I remember back when I started (must be about 1990 or thereabouts... A game of Bloodbowl at school...
It was meant to be a normal game, but then 2 more guys turned up so we had a 4 player game, with 2 pitches in a cross formation. Apparently there were rules, but I'd never heard of them, and when the other 3 ganged up on me... to my shame I kicked the board over...
Still ashamed to this day... just glad there were no painted models that day
After getting my behind whooped several times in a row by a really obnoxious and hyper kid in my FLGs at our rather silly 500points game we play every Wednesday i decided to counter his nerdy list with a even nerdier list and use every filthy trick available in my army (i was playing dark eldar so plenty of dirty tricks) after deployment (raider sideways etc) i got first turn and my raider zoomed across the board he got a bit stressed (no your raider cant move that much thats not in the rules let me see bla bla yap yap.. ) killed his squad of nobz before they could even blink and survive without even so much as a scratch the game got a lot darker....
I Also used a razorwing blasting most of his army to pieces the following turns. to a point that he didnt want to play anymore, so i stepped outside to let him cool off and get a much needed smoke.... when i came back to my horror i found out that my razorwing had "fallen" of the table my haemonculi conversion was broken and my raider was missing as was my opponent......
As you can imagine i was a bit ticked of at that moment.... but being twice the ae of the kid i had to be "cool" about this.
I found out where he lived and had a good chat with his moter about this incident, day after he came to my house he apologized and we played a good match.
i dont have any hard feelings towards this bloke, im just guessing hormones and redbull got in his way :P
