Dwarf Royal Guard released by Titan Wargames

G'day folks, Titan Wargames is a small one-man company, this far specialised in selling evil dwarf models for the Chaos Dwarf niche. The latest release is a set of 5 metal Dwarf Royal Guard miniatures: http://www.titanwargames.com/shop/dwarves/royal-guard

As you may see, these are quite beautiful models and an improvement in sculpting from earlier miniatures. Also the price of £10 for 5 RG is decent.

Now, the fine thing about this release is not only that it provides nice great weapon models for Chaos Dwarf players, but these masked Royal Guard also capture the image of how armoured Chaos Dwarf troops would look based non the Hellcannon crew. This is all well, because a lot of Warriors of Chaos collectors own a Hellcannon.

With current Games Workshop pricing and the quality of Titan Wargames' Royal Guard in mind, why not add a Chaos Dwarf infantry contingent to your WoC army?

You could also mix in some Royal Guard models in a Chaos Warrior unit if you like the old randomness of Chaos from the Lost and the Damned era. (Or why not make a fully fledged Chaos army, with Beastmen, Daemons and Chaos Dwarf counts-as units alongside the Chaos Warriors and marauders?) Either way, these new miniatures are sure to fit into a WoC army, especially when fielding a Hellcannon.

Saw them earlier this week, been keeping my eyes on their stuff for a while. They are very nice models and if I was to do Abyssal Dwarfs for KOW I'd likely get these guys.

Not bad at all - I'd consider them were I playing Chaos or Chaos/Abyssal Dwarves. I'll keep them in mind if anyone in the RPG group needs dwarven characters or NPCs.

Woah. These are gorgeous. I might well just pick some up to paint!

My birthday is too far away...

But I'll keep these guys in my thoughts and on my list. Of course, I'll probably add helmet wings or horns and use them as dwarfs.

Nice! Not a chaos dwarf player myself, but I know two and will pass this along their way. Very cool minis.
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

Naturally, these models are single piece ones. John Blake explains why on his sculpting log over at Chaos Dwarfs Online. Note also that there is a Royal Guard command group arriving later on and maybe about this year's Christmas a pack of 10 goblins will be released. As far as I understand they will be troglodyte, reptilian knife stabbers suitable for Sneaky Gits, Nasty Skulkers and RPG games gobbos.

If you hadn't noticed, one thing about Titan Wargames is its intriguing background sections on the website, mainly written by Thomas Heasman-Hunt. Try the new Royal Guard story piece beneath the picture and shop information and see what you think.

In Of the Undercities you will find a claustrophobic, subterranean world where dwarves and goblins live and struggle without any knowledge of, or known way out to a surface world. Unlike Warhammer Fantasy, where any great disturbance of the the status quo is unacceptable, Titan Wargames feature a forward-moving main story in the shape of the rise of Baggronor the Widowslayer. It's an original setting for the budding wargame, which sparks the imagination and holds great promise for the future to come.

JMR over on Chaos Dwarfs Online (CDO) has posted a picture of one of his WIP Royal Guard minis. Since the cloak on the back is visible in one of the photos I thought I should better post a link here: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/sh...0412#pid190412
