Played a practice tourney game yesterday. 1500 points. odd mission. basically it is VPs. Troops are recycled but attachements ie transports are not. You get bonus VPs for destroying the same unit more than once. destroyed units come on and are rolled for as reserves.
My list:
OLord, War scythe, 2+/3++, MSS, Barge with gauss cannon

3 tranniecryps (1 per warrior unit)
Ctan, WW, ass8 shotgun

4 wraiths, 2 whip, 1 pistol
monolith (reserves)
he had something like
some leader with anti invul save power leading a large bike unit with lightning claws, pfists, a medic for FNP
3x6 bikers, multimelta and 2? meltas each
2 predators w autocannon, 2 lascannon
2 speeders with missiles/multimelta
its known as a tough list that is hard to beat. But unbeknownst to him i had tree roots and pot holes!
Turn 1.
Necrons
i just move up and shoot at his units. no real damage done. the Olord moves agrresively into strike range. madness or into the fray to claim first blood?!
Bikers
He was concerned about moving first turn but then got bolder as he didnt lose a model. until the last 2 squads and speeders moved. 3 cas from each bike squad and an immobilsed speeder saw him fear my potholes! the speeder is behind terrain now and cant see out. He is too scared to move his death bike blob so it stays still. the CCB gets fried from a billion melta shots and is no more. my Olord is pinned in the middle of no where. he misses with preds or does no damage. i forget to use pulse.
Turn 2.
necrons
deathblob and Biker units are targetted with quake guns. solo destocryp does nothing. Wraiths assault a biker unit and roll 3 hits out of 16 attacks...clap clap. i lose by 2 points but pass the saves. Monolith comes down but scatters 12in away from the drop point 1in away from the table edge. i stun the speeder with the desto. Ctan moves up to engage.
bikers
more bikes are lost. 1 man is left standing on his own when his 3 mates ride into trees and die. god bless you WW Ctan!
Turn 3.
Necrons
Again target deathblob and bikers with quake. Olord charges and wipes out remaining biker squad with Wraiths. Ctan does the same.
Bikers
Again death blob will not move. reinforcements come on and shoot at wraith/Olord unit. no damage. Speeder immobilises and strips whip as well from Monolith.
Turn 4.
Necrons
Quake guns do their thing. Ctan assaults and nukes Predator. wraiths and Olord assault and wipe out bike squad but lose their first model. they withdraw back into cover.
Bikers
The deathmob finally moves and loses 2 bikes. more biker reserves come on and try to kill Ctan. remove 2 wounds. Pred fires at Ctan and removes a wound. he remembers to use the reroll invul saves on his leader.
Turn 5.
Necrons
Ctan assaults his attackers and wipes them out. wraith and OLOrd unit assault biker unit and wipe them out. withdraw back into cover
Bikers
More reserves and shoot another wraith to death. Ctan is shredded as he loses his last wound. Death blob moves and is fine. Dangerous terrain now on a 1 instead of a 1 or a 2. speeder misses monolith.
Turn 6.
Olord and wraiths are portalled back to monolith and out of harms way. they shoot the speeder and immobilise it.
Bikers have pot shots but do nothing.
Necrons win by a massive margin.
Necrons did as i expected and nuetered his list. an entire army rolling D terrain on a 1 or a 2 stopped him in his tracks. This allowed me to seek out and concentrate my assault units and do serious damage. if it was a standard VP game i would have lost the CCB only as all the damage/killing of the Ctan and 2 of the wraiths was by revived units. Was very happy with the performance of WW. i could have protected the Ctan more but really he accounted in combat for a bike squad and a pred.
