To the honor of Hashut!

As banal as it may seem, the wish to start this army began with the new pics on the WarhammerForge site and was fueled by the Tamurkhan book. And i wanted to make an army nobody near me is playing.

I started with collecting infos, pics and fluff connected with the Chaos Dwarfs and with joining this forum.

Regarding models i started with ordering the Games Day Hellsmith, a Hellcannon, InfernalGuard and the three new heroes. In addition i traded some dozen Hobgoblins and some Big Hats.

Now i am sitting in front of a pile of minis and slowly i prepare to paint them - and to present them to you.

At first it will be more of a collection than a functioning army but in time i hope it will grow.

The Tower of Zarr Dareis

Zarr Dareis is a big mining town dedicated to Hashut by the Chaos Dwarfs about 120 years ago. It is neither the biggest nor the wealthiest mining town, but its mines produce a rare ore coveted and needed in the dark rituals used to bind daemonic essence into the war machines of the Dawi Zarr.
Zarr Dareis is dominated by the horned Tower overlooking the tents of the slaves and the houses of its inhabitants. This Tower is the home of Htharikk Darkheart, Sorceror-Prophet and cruel master of Zarr Dareis.



Since Zarr Dareis is often the aim of Orc raiders it houses a strong detachment of Infernal Guard as well as some hobgoblin slave troops. These can be reinforced by the war machines constantly built in the deep halls of the tower.

@EN: I abondoned every hope to match the quality. Next up will be the Hellsmith where perhaps you will see some WIPs and the Hellcannon.
This will probably be part of the Golden Hat Competition over at CDO, so no WIPs. Am not too happy with painting atm, had a conjunctivits and
am still not too sharp with my eyes. Today will be the first day when i will try myself on the finer details again.

For a long time i have been a fan of Ana at ChestofColor.com and now i commissioned her my BigBoss!
Today the official pics arrived and i thought that is a good day to start this.

As you can see above, I started on my first core unit, too. Some old Hobgoblins traded against some metal Space Marines.

Hi, good to see a well designed plog with the first posts kept for various record keeping. I wish I had done that.

The commision is of course amazing, but the Hobgoblins look the part as well. Nice skin tone and a great start for this plog. I am looking forward to see/read more.

Yeah, last week i managed the first painting sessions after 2 holiday-weeks and 3 weeks of an eye inflammation.
Hope I manage the some pics on Tuesday, finished the Hellsmith for here and the ToFP,
6 Dwarfs for the Brush Slaves League at CDO (meaning I can
show you the pics after the voting there) and started on the Hellcannon.

BTW, what do you think about a "wanted" post here on page one for older minis I still need?

@Ender: THX! The tray is by base-x-of-war, thought to use it for all my CDs, but on the second look didn`t like the normal elements of the celtic line, so only the hobgobs will get them and it will be lava for the rest.
@ Rob and Roll: Am still working on the color scheme and was out of action with an inflammation of the eyes. Now that I am nearly back to normal I have to finish the stuff for the BSL, Golden Hat and ToFP. Meaning only a trickle of updates the next two weeks, but it will get better (hope that it helps if I tell it myself often enough!).

Am just now working on a shield to try out the intended colors for my Infernal Guard. What do you think?



Am still unsure about a simple free hand design in a burning yellow on it.

It looks dark and gritty with a bloody touch. The freehands would fit well with the fiery hat of the hellsmith

Here my idea of a color scheme for my forthcoming IGs and Bighats:

Looks quite good, if I could offer a suggestion on the yellow free hand, maybe slide it a bit more towards the orange side of the color scale? All the warmth and power of the reds makes it look a little neon in its current shade, but a bit warmer and it will look more like a lava effect, it could also just be the way my iPad it displaying it as well. Look foreword to seeing more of your models
