Yeah the elves are completely under-rated. I got some in my Christmas bag, fell in love with them and went and got 2000 points worth a few weeks later. Mantic have managed to make them look really slender and graceful.

Exactly - I just can't work out how they always seem to look pretty naff in pictures though. Just going from those I really wouldn't have bothered getting any - I suppose that is what the christmas bag was for in a way - a massive sample of the ranges. Certainly worked on me, shame I hadn't realised before the big elf sale a while back.

I agree, and have to say the dwarves and orcs fall somewhat in this category for me too. The dwarves seem somewhat unimpressive until you actually hold one and can see how large it is (Compared to the GW-vein of squashed humans), and while the orcs look decent in pictures, again they seem much nicer when you can actually see how relatively massive the model is.

Dwarves are extremely under-rated, and the official painted mantic models.. 3-ups painted in red and yellow with no bases, look horrible.

The models have a lot of character to them, and are very nice - the only thing that could have been better was more different heads for the models.

I finally got my crazy bag too! My girlfriend bought me one secretly and gave it too me just now, boy I am a happy dude! =D

1. It is UN BE LIE VA BLE what you get for your money. 20 pounds got me 79 miniatures and two warmachines. This is... I have no words!

2. After having aquired tons of Undead (later trading them), Elves and Dwarves I became a fan of Mantic. After getting both Veermyn and Orcs in my order too I am now convinced that anyone criticizing Mantics quality simply doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Every single mini reeks of both casting and sculpting quality. They are easily on par with the very best of plastic fantasy miniatures.

Actually the quality if the Dwarves is still first class, but it is easily the worst of all their kits so far. Every fifth shield hase a hole in it due to the plastic not filling it up entirely. I have about 15 Sprues of Dwarves and every single one is flawed with this.. Well it's not really a hole, but the shield isn't 100% even also.
And they didn't catch all the pieces with undercuts, resulting in even (but tiny) plastic surfaces between Arms and the Body. Other than that they were the first sprue to reduce a variety of 10 different models on the main troop sprue (Elves and Undead) to merely 5. The Orks were even worse. Nothing to complain about however because price/quality ratio is extremely good.
