I read several ‘best assassin’ articles to choose my assassin and of course I went with the best choice that all of them went for which is the Vindicare.
However after 8 weeks & 3 tournaments using him while he always hits I never seem to do any damage, my opponent always passes their cover/inv save or amazingly I fail with a turbo penetrator round. Bottom line is I feel I’m not getting my points back for him so I’d like to try one of the other close quarter based ones.
Callidus
This was my first choice as I liked the idea of appearing dealing damage to a command or devastator squad and then hopefully finishing them with a quick blast from the shredder. However after that she can’t charge so I can’t help but feel that unless I can complete hide her or I targeted a lone unit she’ll be easily cut down by mass fire even in cover. Then again she would act as a good distraction for enemy fire that way?
Eversor
This guy hits like a ton of bricks, with 4+D6 lightning claw attacks on the charge and fleet, the only problem is getting there! But I can use Grand Strategy to give him outflank or infiltrate if the conditions are right to set him up for a excellent ambush! (this has been answered by GW; ‘The power would affect Crowe and the Assassins as they don't have the independent character rule though chances are this may change in the FAQ‘, it didn‘t.)
Which do you think is better? Has anyone had any experience using or fighting this assassins?
