Simply Amazing! You have done them justice!

Could you pass a fellow WW2 wargaming some tips and maybe a tutorial on how you painted the Airborne?

    Thanks!

Awesome work! I'm particularly impressed with the basing- it looks like you've used something like 6 or 7 different products there.

Except for the paint its, sand, static grass, tufts and flowers.

25mm bases today to see how it turns out on that "format".

Very nice clean painting style you have - although i guess irl the packs and uniforms looked a similar colour i like how you've done them as it gives a wider palette. The basing does indeed look awesome and i think i might have to finally stump up some cash on some static tufts. If you have any paypal friendly recommendations then pass them on

Have painted 30 or so Blacktree airbourne and they are a very varied lot - some okay but some look like para halflings... The artizan ones are nice sculpts and have character butby and large these look far superior and more detail - nice job.

Great basing too btw - am really coming round to laser cut mdf, mildly addicted to that nice burny smell...

Great stuff- the color on the uniforms is spot on. Any close up shots? Also I noticed you have them on 40K bases instead of the flat circular ones typically seen on historicals. Was that just an aesthetic choice, or are you planning on subbing these in some 40K games?

    Re: Historicals by Havok

Sadly I don't have a good camera to take closeups. I use my iphone when i take my pics :P how professional.
Anyhow, the bases are chosen since i did not have any of those flat laying around, but I also prefer 40k bases
since the lip allows me to write additional information, like rank, name, weapon etc, and also to mark out the facing
    of the model.

Anyway, I got some new products which I wish to share my thoughts on and first out is the Russian Starter Army deal by Warlord for the Black Powder game. Follow the link to my blog for a full review and more pics and please give a comment or critisism.

Geez, by the time you finish those guys you'll be likely to snap if you hear someone use the words "march attack". Look good so far, for sure! How do you like those Warlord plastics?

Nice review. Shame they're pretty much monopose, however I know that is something historical gamers are generally into for ease-of-assembly.

We can also totally see your reflection on the laptop screen in the 4th picture you took.

Quick question ref the warlord battalion pack. Do you get the metal command for the line/grenadier regiments or is it only the command for the pavloski's? Asking as I have 26 battalions to paint up and this would be a nice way to get them.

Only for the Pavlovski's, quite a shame, i was thinking emailing warlord and ask if i could buy commands seperatley, they don't seem to be available on their own on the warlord shop, which is a bit strange!

    Re: Historicals by Havok

Had a quick look at your blog and got the answer. I have had the warlord metal command for the last 4 battalions I painted, and quite frankly the officer is just rubbish. It has such a wierd pose it is horrible and does not fit into the march attack of the figures. However I have noticed that you can buy a perry command sprue with drummer, officer and 2 standard bearers for £2 plus pnp off the perry website. I will be comparing the perry russians to the warlord ones I have when my order arrives from maelstrom to see if the fit is acceptable. I quite like the Warlord Russians, they remind me of the Front rank metal range with slightly less detail. They are nice and quick though and look good en masse.
