Fantasy Army: BoC
I've rencently been looking at picking up a second army for Warhammer. Having collected my High Elves through Ebay and determined to avoid GW's ludicrous pricing policy I decided to go elsewhere in my search for minatures, cue Perry Minatures and their awesome War of the Roses/Medieval range of models. I'd have to resign myself to fielding a fairly basic army if I wanted to keep to the range that Perry Minatures offered but the model look great and the price is right so I put together a list which would keep costs to a minimum...

General of the Empire + full plate and enchanted shield
Wizard Lord + extra level

Captain of the Empire + BSB, full plate and great weapon
Warrior Priest + heavy armour and shield
Wizard + extra level

38 Spearmen + shields and FC
+ 10 Handgunners
+ 10 Handgunners

10 Knights of the Inner Circle + FC and steel standard

20 Greatswords + FC
+ 10 Crossbowmen
+ 10 Crossbowmen

I'm still pondering making some changes to the list (mainly by adding in some skirmishers or light cavalry) but I think the core of the army is fairly solid. The Spearmen make a good horde and will have the BSB and Warrior Priest to give them a boost in combat. They've also got the Handgunner detachments to provide supporting fire. They'll also be the main target for any buff spells my wizards roll up. The Greatswords are the second block unit, will work pretty much in the same way as the Spearmen and will be joined by my General.

The Knights will form the mobile hammer unit in the army while the two cannon should hold a potent threat to any monsters my opponant might bring to the table. I still think the list needs quite a lot of tweaks as I'm concerned about how few units I have on the table and a general lack of mobility. The list is build with cost saving in mind and I've worked out that I'll have to spend about £130 to £140 to get eveything I need.
