I have an empire army and am somewhat at a loss on what to do in the magic phase (both defensive and offensive actually...) Ive tried fire wizards throwing around fireballs, light wizards augmenting units and beast wizards with the signature spell.
They all had their charm but they cant reliably let me deal with opponents. Most armies I tend to face are Strength and Toughness 4 and having S/T3 is a huge drawback (hence the beast signature) Hitting first with greatswords and/or having WS10 and the like helps greatswords (amongst other units) enmensly but on its own doesent mean they can take these foes safely. As soon as the magic dies down (or I fail to cast) im in trouble... It seems I need either a combination of spell lores or one that I havent tried out yet. Last week a guy at my local GW said I should try shadow? (I think?) he mentioned mindrazor and lowering toughness and such (which does indeed sound pretty awesome) which would allow me to make mincemeat of my opponent pretty easily if used together
Im looking to try a few games with different lores anyway to see which lores I like but il ask here as well: Whats generally the "best" spell lore for empire? Or isent there one and its all down to personal preference?
