My other Xenos works : tyranids hive-cyst Hrosshelvi and Kroot kill-squad

Hello everyone !

I just set aside the Dark Eldar for now : my painting level does not allow me to put enough in value.

To reacquaint myself with the painting I started two new joint projects.

*A short-term project: A Kroot kill-team composed of 10 members highly specialized, each miniature with its own look.
*The longer-term project is to build a small Tyranid army (500 points in the first place), which is interposed in the path of this fine team of Kroot.

The first is an albino Kroot. His name is "Tkahar", a tracker with a crossbowgun.

Here are my bio sword conversion and the scything talon (repositionning) I'm going to use to equip my warrior.

First of, I want you to know, that I really like your painting style, whether it's about the technique or the actual use of quite a bunch of colours - both, the nidz and the kroot look rich(kudos for this conversion, where is the cape from?).
I guess your painting standard really benefits from the small size of the armies, cuz I know somehow about such things which can become quite time-consuming. Due this I'd be hypothetically interested in your take of, maybe a necromunda gang.
But, hey bring'em on and let's see what your list will include .

The Tyranids looking very good so far! Is the skin painted with the use of washes?

Yep The kroot killteam is a fun project ! But very time consuming...

Mad Khwoot is near to be finished... (I need to rework the legs to be less skinny, add some energy wires and finish handles for his weapon)



Otherwise in the band, you will also see:
* The mentor half Kroot half tau in X25 exo armour
* The old Beastmaster and his two hounds
* A female with very human characteristics specialised in blades...
* 2 kids
* robed psyker 'half eldar half Kroot'

For the painting of the nids :
The skin is done with a selfmade violet wash (using old "plasma red" citadel ink, coat d'arms superwashes red and blue, vallejo matt varnish and acrylic retarder).
I'm using ceramite white with this wash and matt varnish to highlight the skin...

The orange carapace is tau sept ochre with a selfmade orange wash, darkened with wash of khorne red, dark flesh, violet wash and agrax earthshade (+ a lining with nuln oil)then highlighed with tau sept ochre + orange + pallid wych flesh and white...

I just ordered a tervigon... ^^

You know, I was having a hard time getting behind the Kroot-Ork model at first, but now that you've slapped some paint on him... Damn excellent job! He really looks like a hybrid, the rig he's wearing is great, and the tech doesn't look to much like any other race which is a big plus! Can't wait until he's 100% done.
