Those are fine looking muskets and pikes you have there! I LIKE the pikeman with that great sword. He should be able to survive well enough if his pike (unit) disappears.![]()

I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Hmmm...you made me thinking of some conversions, got a load of the old greatswords lying around...if there would only be a way to modernize those greatswords...lose those puffy sleeves, add some fancy hats...

What do you call russian goblins? Kremlins!
Thank you.
I think it would be a pity to lose the sleeves, they're very nice. If I were to convert them any I'd probably just change the hats.
I read that the Swiss mercenaries employed by the French and Dutch looked old-fashioned with heavy armour, so I'll say these are Swiss.
Now I'm painting a few of my conversions, as well as a bunch of artillery crew.

Woo! I'm loving the pink. Were the uniforms of that period really so colorful?

Thank you. Well, that's the thing, uniforms were just starting to appear at this time, and when they did it was more of the "The colonel got a good price on a big batch of red cloth", rather than "every soldier from this country should dress in red". A lot of soldiers (the majority), especially in the imperial Habsburg lands, were dressed in civilian clothes. They did however try to incorporate red somewhere in their dress as a field sign, thus all the red sashes, feathers, stockings and so on.
Did some sculpting yesterday:
Finished the crouching pikemen and the jumping Scotsman, and made trousers for the walking pikemen. Oh, and a face for the guy with the morion.

Nice, nice. That almost-crouching pikeman looks vicious.Love the jumping Scotsman's pose though. Can't say much about the face you sculpted yet, I can't quite see the features well at the moment so I'll wait until he's painted. And I would like to praise the pink too.

They do appear tp be coming along nicely, they do, they do.
I have been "mixing" uniforms on my 28mm, plastic minies! I need to start adding/painting on, a piece of cloth as a "marker" of what army/unit they are part of. "Uniform" uniforms (as youi mentioned) were just coming into style.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Thank you. Here's another couple of pics of the face, but unfortunately they're not much better. We'll see how it looks after painting.
Thanks!
Have sculpted some more, from the left we have another shot of the refaced pikeman, then a drummer made from a firelock. After that there's a pikeman WIP in the "receive cavalry" pose, or something like that. That guy had a broken plastic pike, so I had to do something... The following guy has been shown before, now he's got a new helmet crest as well as a repaired shoulder armour.
Then we have a sergeant with what I think is an arm from a plastic squat. And then a pikeman and a musketeer who's recorded "Face Off 2".

Again, cool stuff. I like the "receive cavalry" pose a lot and it seems like you got it exactly right without the pike being lowered too much so actual cavalry models would fit underneath it (I think).
Didn't think I'd see a plastic squat arm in this plog.Nice recycling. Doesn't look way out of scale as it's a big glove he's wearing.
Firelock drummer looks flawless.![]()
It is amazing how much work you are putting in these.
