    Rise of the Orantep Dynasty

NOTE: These are the first two updates that I'd already posted on another forum condensed into one post for you all so your up to date.

Well just thought I'd share my Necrons with you guys. Don't have any real backstory for them yet just a bit of a explanation as to why there painted as they are. Anyway here's some pictures first of all. Not the bext but I'll try to get soem close ups for you all next time.

Basically I tried the all metal aproach but it was pretty boring and looked a bit lifeless so I was messing around with ways to spruce it up and decided to give them a lava effect for their gauss flayers and inner workings. Though it'd be cool to have them sort of bleed like flesh and bloods would. Kind of thinking it would add to the horrifying aspect of them for their prey. The reason why it's all over the armour as well is becasue of the Tombworlds lack of resources and the fact that the Dynasty is just the tombworld the crons are only repaired when they desperatly need to be to conserve resources, so small holes in the armour are left open. I also choose a bone colour as the dynasty colour as I thought it tied in with the blood like lava aspect.

As for the weapons they will all be a bronzey (colour). This includes the vechiles and anything with living metal also has the lava effects added to it. Here's a ghost arks finished rib on one of the ribs to show you what I mean. On a side note, brilliant model but takes ages to put together and paint.

Hope there not too bad by the standards here.

    All hail the Orantep Dynsaty.

Orantep slowly tapped the arm of this ornate throne. The awekening procotols were trying his infinite patience, it was taking to long activate his resources. His once powerful dynasty in tatter, inferior lifeforms having taken it upon themselves to pull it apart angering him greatly. Still his legions were awekening and soon his conquest would begin. Then the universe would know terror. Orantep would personally make sure of that. From the ashes rise a pheonix and Orantep intended to burn everything in his way.

Just some more pictures of how progress is going with my Necrons. Dam this Ghost Arks taking a while.

Firstly hopefully a clearer picture of my Warriors paint scheme.

These are pictures of where I currently stand with my Ghost Ark and Annihilation Barge.

Orantep rose, clicking his fingers unnecessarily as his lychgaurd flanked him. He was intent on finding out what was taking the Tomb Spyders so long. Strolling purposefully out of the chamber he nonchantly flicked his scythe up slicing through a scarab who had scuttled too close, several more appearing immediatly to absorb the materials from thier deceased brother. Orantep paid them no attention, he was just eager to get his campaign underway.

    All hail the Orantep dynasty

Orantep was getting more and more impatient. His second in command had told him he wouldn't like tha state his Ghost Arks and other vehicles were in and he was right. Years of stasis had led to them becoming damaged or just not operating at acceptable effeiciency. He had considered beheading the messenger but seeing as he'd not tried to cover up the news he may be useful later on. Orantep couldn't stand grovelling or circumventing the actual truth no matter how well put. The stasis chambers which held his Ghosts Arks had been a hive of activity when he'd entered. A whole host of reconstructure scarabs were slowly repairing and rebuilding them to get them up to efficient levels. Hopefully Orantep thought as he strolled up the stasis chamber, we'll be ready soon.

Not much today just some progress shot's of my Ghost Ark.

As I said not much just showing the tail of the Ghost Ark and the dynasty symbol and powersource.

    All hail the Orantep Dynasty!

Nice work! Is the main color on craft or bronzey one, looks more dark brown? Maybe I just misread what you were saying you are doing with it. In any case its working out great for you. I imagine all the little extras your painting on really add up.

Re: Rise of the Orantep Dynasty

Firstly sorry for not updating this in ages. Painting the Ghost Ark kind of destroyed my urge to go on with the army and my attentions drifted but I've finished it up now and wanted to show you all. First of replies though.

    Replies:

LegionThree: The former pcitures were a little dark but yes the main colour is bronze strangely enough highlighted with Snakebite Leather but hey it works. Yer the detaisl are abit time consuming but I reckon the finished product was worth it.

Meraklis: Thanks and yes it takes a while to paint it. Took me about 6 months froms tart to finsih lol but seriosuly I reckon if I sat down and just built it and painted it all at once I reckon it'd take a good week or two. I have another one I currently sub assembling so I'll be able to let you know for sure soon.

TimeLeeson: Wow thanks. I should actually really finsih that annihilation barge up at some point .

    Weirdboy: Thanks

    Update:

Orantep was glad for the good news the messenger brought him this time. Several more repeats of the previous reports and even the truthful messenger my not have been so lucky. It had taken a year or so of patient waiting but now it was all paying off. Striding into the control room Orantep watched as one of the symbols on the console blinked from orange to green and a automated voice anounced that the craft was leaving the hangars. Turning to view the large tactical display unit currently displaying a slowly rotating planet Orantep voiced a command and the display zoomed in to show the small symbol moving along a passageway before reaching the passageway doors, slowly picking up speed as it moved through and out into the light of the planet.

'Ghost Ark 001 commencing scouting and visual protocol zero alpha beta' the automated computer announced as Orantep turned to leave the room and return to his throne.

Soon the time would come for his Dynasty to truley rise again.

Right, not much to show I'm afraid despite how long its been since the last update but heres the finsihed Ghost Ark for you all. Now despite the guns having to be in a fixed position due to several drops and breaks and the model being slightly crooked I'm pretty pleased with how the 'Scorpion' (as my girlfriend puts it) has turned out.

Sorry for the pictures of the Ark not being brilliant (chopping block doesnt quite make the bext photo shoot). Hopeully I can try and get better ones when I've finished its squad up.

Up next will be my progress on the next one of these as I've decided to go for it while I'm still in the right frame of mind and get it done. I also want to finsih up the squad and the barge. Firstly however I need to finish my marines Libarian by the end of the week so lots to do.

    Tikll next time.

    All hail the Orantep dynasty
