    Poison and Rerolls

Let's say I'm attacking with a squad of Ghouls (with poison attacks), and they have rerolls to hit. If I reroll a failed to-hit roll, and it comes up as '6', does that count for poison as well (or are rerolls excluded)?

I ask because one of my friends apparently asked in GW about it, and was told that poison doesn't work with rerolls.

There is nothing in the rules to suggest it wouldn't work as you have described.

If you reroll a failed roll to hit and it comes up a 6 you would get a poisoned wounds, it sounds like your friend got a somewhat generalised answer from the GW staff member, either that or they were just plain wrong.

What you can't do is reroll a successful, non-6 hit (i.e a 5) in the hope of getting another poisoned wound.

When you make a re-roll it is the second roll that counts. It says so under "Re-Roll" on page 7.

Yeah, not really sure what the staffer was trying to communicate there, but what he apparently said was straight up wrong. If you re-roll a die, the only thing that counts is the final roll and off that meets a trigger value for a rule like poison or killing blow or whatever then that speial rule will take effect, regardless of what the original roll was.

If that was the case (re-rolls dont count for poison) there are going to be a lot of pissed off DE players with nerfed units of Witch Elves.

Whoever gave him that information was probably misunderstanding the question. Perhaps the Gw staff member thought it was something to do with what Spiney Norman mentioned?
A boy played in the sandbox with no one to mind him,
When quietly a mixing truck pulled up behind him.
He peeped not a peep, cried out nary a cry —
Just his sandals stuck out when the concrete was dry.
